Thank you DSdaley....yes..the more room the better. I have one pretty large in my tank and I have about 3" of area around it. It is a fast grower and it also encrusts, so you can't move it once it takes hold. I have a birdsnest closest to it, but it isn't anchored down and will be easy to relocate. Liquid, I would go ahead and remove the frag off the plug with the acro because It will kill it. I would also put it somewhere with plenty of room...at least 3 - 4"...6-8" if you have the real estate. Hydnophora is very hardy so you should just be able to pull it off and glue it by the other hydnophora frag. I'd love to know who is selling those to them. They really should know better.

Great video/photos! I've got four clowns, soon to be five and not a single one had shown any interest in hosting. I'm about to take one, wrap him up in my carpet anemone, and staple him shut for a few weeks. I'd grab up an elegance today if I believed for a moment any of my clown troupe would host it!

Yea I would remove it sooner than later, the get long green... Actually not even sure what to call it but they puff up and that's when damage occurs

Thanks! No, never feed it. Back when I got it I had a skunk shrimp...he ate that. Then a week later he ate my replacement shrimp. Since then he has gotten nothing to eat at all. Maybe set up an egg crate cage until it can fend for itself. Sorry I couln't take it to recoup its health. There is a elegance coral pathogen I think, so just to be safe I don't want to introduce any elegance that may carry it and put my healthy one at risk. For the most part I think the ones from Australlia are safe...its the Indonesian ones I worry about most.

Just gotta say, good thread for showing how supportive this community is! Im really happy to see you got your situation worked out, that inital buy was def off. Dont ever be afraid to speak up when buying things, even if you come off a little blunt. I personally just play dumb "Hey is that white color normal? Is that tissue death normal for this type of coral?" "Do these two corals do well together? Where do I put them?"

If they understand you know a bit they will understand your telling them in a polite way "uhh...whats going on here?" And if they are reputable they will answer truthfully and point you in the right direction. If they just try and make the sale I move on. Courtesy and being upfront goes a long way especially with this hobby I have found. Good luck with the new pieces

It's a question of growth rate and not an aggressive murderous coral colony correct? Cause I'll euthanize that hydnophora if it launches an unprovoked preemptive attack on the acro! Lol coral war is fun...
