corals look great! you mentioned you started with dry rock and after awhile pulled it in favor for live rock? can you elaborate on this? what kind of dry rock did you use and what kind of symptoms were you seeing that made you switch? when you made the switch which kind of rock did you buy?

Thank you! I started out with Marco rock and could not (for over a year) get my phosphates under control. I could not grow coraline algae, could not keep any sps at all and even my lps (chalices, favias etc) wouldn’t stay healthy. I cannot attribute it for certain to the rock as many people have great success with marco rock. I can for certain say when I took all the rock out and bought live rock from the local fish store and didn’t change anything else, my tank took a 180 right after.
Hopefully this answers your question
You tank is going to be amazing btw!!!

Thanks..
There is a lot of conflicting info out there about the dry rock vs. live rock. My first tank was done with Fiji boat rock from fosters and Smith I was able to keep corals fairly quickly but had a hard time creating a scape I liked. The box was full of round rocks all close to the same size. My second tank I used some local home made rock from a lfs. Aragrocrete? It was pretty bad.. neat shapes but grew algae like no other. I ended up pulling it in favor of some more boat rock. Last tank I used “real reef” rock before they shipped dry. That tank established pretty quick. I held on to that rock but let it dry out. I’m thinking of picking up a small amount of live rock to mix in with it.

Being an sps fan like you. It’s pretty hard seeing them wither away when you are doing everything you can to keep it going. Especially when you have had sps success in the past.

Really nice scape, excited to see this really grow in.

Nice tank, I love the dimensions I'm actually planning on getting a tank with those same dimensions when I upgrade my nano

You should I haven’t found any reason to dislike the dimensions for sure.

I really like shallow tanks so I didn't want to go over 18" (I considered 20" but I have a 18" cube right now and I like the height)

I also like deep tanks so the 24" seemed perfect without getting too big.
