So... to be clear- you were or were not actually considering keeping it? And what was it?
I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he was tempted, asked for advice but ultimately did the right thing. TO be tempted is human, it is giving into or resisting that temptation that makes us good or bad.

seeing that I am returning it— no, I do not want to keep it.

It was a Kessil H80, mount, and Red Sea AB+

Essentially the perfect fuge light for my new reef. Alas, this was a true test to my moral scope and I appreciate everyone here convincing me to do the right thing. R2R has never steered me wrong before so I am going to go with what you guys think I should do.

I agree, really just wanted to know what it was. Character is what defined by how you handle temptation, he did the right thing

Send them back, the only issue would be time. Do they expect you to go drop things or are they setting up a pickup. I don’t know your schedule, work, life, balance situation but I could see this being an issue for some.

I’m sure something can be worked out.

Because i wanted to know if anyone else has had any of the same experiences here. I have like 80% of my friends/family telling me to keep it and 20% telling me to send it back. such a moral dilemma lol
80% of your friends and family are immoral on this issue. You are admitting that you plan to STEAL items from BRS. Just do the right thing dude!

Hello all,
I received an order from BRS containing the wrong items and their customer service team has handled it and are sending me the correct items. I have heard in the past that they usually let the buyer keep the goods they were sent. In this case, they did not explicitly ask me to return them but they did create an RMA and label for me to return them. I am an honest person and came to them at 9AM next business day and I am totally willing/wanting to return the items.

However, as a reefer, we all know pretty much anything on BRS’s site is useful and quite frankly part of me wants to keep the accidental goods. Can someone enlighten me towards the laws surrounding this as well as make me feel better about my decision to return the items. I love BRS and do not want to take from them but at the same time this is their mistake, not mine.

If they wanted you to keep to, they would say so. Plus they have issued an RMA. This doesn't not sound like they want you to keep it.

I once ordered ONE in line TDS meter for my RODI system from BRS. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found TEN! Apparently, the person filling the order thought it was one device per box.

I returned them. I need to look in a mirror when I shave.

please refrain,

read the thread, I did the right thing.

I mean if the package gets lost on the way back that you returned at least you tried

A multimillion dollar company im sure they will be okay
@Stephen8169301 this is an Immoral reply as you are suggesting it is ok to keep the inventory. We all pay for theft. All companies compare the cost of returns vs. letting you keep the merchandise.

I mean it’s a difficult situation because the FTC states that any items sent to your address with your name on it are not subject to needing to be returned. Their mishap has caused me to need to drive out to the post office to send their package back as well as over a weeks worth of wasted time in setting up my new system. The final piece of the puzzle for my tank was in the mail and I was ready to spend the whole weekend transferring everything over but now I have to change all my plans and wait for my actual item to come

I have an idea... why not join a legal forum and ask them. You're looking for a loophole!

Either pay for it or send it back; don't be a cheapskate!
