In other news............ did you know a shark pee's through their skin :high5:

More to come tomorrow.

to each is their own, if you like it and it's in your pay grade then so be it. some would say it is as green as Pikachu:wink:
Far from green lol. Let me dig up my photo of the mother colony and of my frag lol

Have we seen anything from RR yet that has looked just like their pics??? All I have seen is people posting pics of their expensive frags that they all want to believe looks like the enhanced pics from RR. Anybody got any pics of their (one of a kind corals) from years past that can match a pic they posted to sell wherever,(Aquariumpros.ca), anywhere. There might be a few out there, out of all the hyped coral they have brought in. RR= sucker

Posted early July this year, which looks pretty close to the original image that got everyone going. I haven't seen this frag/colony in person however, likely the one that died.

Keithcorals piece looks fantastic. If he could take a nice top down with a d slr camera it would look very close to the original pic I would bet.

But ppl are also forgetting that the original pic that started it was pretty saturated. But the one you posted does look very close to me. Enough that I still want to buy a piece here soon.

So you think those are blue polyps or not. Top polyps look like it, lower polyps don't though. Crazy baby blue tips!

Wonder what lighting, that far background has an interesting color to it, maybe some type of LEDs with actinics on?

Everyone who has had their frag growing for a little while has the blue polyps throughout that I've seen.

If these people are slinging delicate volatile products and they are able to charge a premium for it we should be happy because it makes the reef supplies and livestock business profitable even lucrative and sustainable for those out there. Anyone who owns a business and more so a mom and pop style shop does not have it simple period.

I realize this is a bit off topic, but I just find if you don't want to pay a lot of money for corals fine, but don't condemn the people who have found a way to market and promote premium products for a premium price. It exists in any industry and there will always be people who want to pay for what they think is the best regardless if everyone doesn't necessarily agree its the best.

And you think this is cool to rip people off? You think is cool to charge 5 times what the whole colony cost for just a frag? WOW! The only thing these people are doing is ruining the hobby.

This looks like GARBAGE compared to their original colony pic. I could post a pic of a turd and out do that

I think that is certainly is polarizing in the the hobby, some people will be into it and some people will not. The market really determines the price anyways.

I don't see it as ruining the hobby rather adding another tier or layer to it.

Can it be considered a rip off if people who buy it are happy with it and happy to have something that is worth something to them? You could look at anything where collecting is an aspect and say its a ripoff to buy something exclusive, but I am sure they collector covets and prizes the expensive items in their said collection. This can apply to absolutely any consumer item that is limited. Its just the nature of people wanting individuality or unique aspects to their identity as well as the things they own.

I am not saying you are wrong, I just think its an endless debate, and that post was my opinion on it. If vendors can make money and their consumers are happy with the products then its a win win for the parties involved, for anyone who doesn't subscribe to lineage coral collection, there are tons of corals out there that are cheap and look nice and can fill you tank and be beautiful.

I think we can all agree that when vendors photoshop the **** out of frag and sell something that isn't what was advertised then its a problem. Which is why JD is such a contentious issue. Not only is the original image in question because no one has ever gotten it to look that way, but also this week people are wondering how or where RR USA got pieces from. Because people want authenticity and want to be able to prove it.

To me thats what this is all about. Authenticity. Not wether the coral is expensive, or cool or more colorful.

Frankly this hoopla is making Jawdropper even more legendary and now makes one of the sticks in my aquarium a talking piece to other hobbyists, non aquarium enthusiasts etc. because the controversy is interesting.

I've been tagging along just being amused because I have zero idea of what a jaw dropper acro is. Sounds like this one should be named the "Jimmy Hoffa Acro". If this happens I should get a free frag. I'm not hard to find

It just the new growth on the tips and polyps that is white, blue led and blue actinics will make it look as if it is blue that all. you can tell the background is white now it blue just like the tip and polyps. from the look of it, it don't even look close to the og picture.

This thread is awesome... Can we have it stickied so every time I need a good laugh I can read through it again?

Lol pikachu is yellow not green. But haters will always hate. It's not $800 for half inch either. But I love when people talk smack then pm for a frag hahaha. This hobby kills me.

Please........... yes if you have questions do it.
When I found out the REAL story I rolled of my chair.
