No, It's not mine.
My (lfs) owner and I have been close family friends since 1989.
He happened to give me a heads up not too long after they hit the market when he came back from a vendor's convention. :)
If the Colbalt's are still prone to that, then they should be pulled back. JMO

Meaning? The only media I have on is activated carbon and it's on a hob media reactor. I let the water go through the reactor into a bucket to flush the carbon.
Does your carbon tumble like GFO or is it packed tight in the reactor?

Very little tumble..thinking about it that makes sense...but would it also be the cause for the cloudy tank? I should pack the carbon tight shouldn't i?
domination2580, Yepiiiiiiii
Do not let carbon tumble like GFO.

It's too soft and will break down into small fines that could also cause HllE.

Pack AC tight!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Yeah. I didn't think about that...I just set it up not thinking about the carbon part. Lol

You can thank @twilliard for the "Media Dust" tip :)

As soon as he said that, I was just waiting to see if you said carbon.

Ok so I added more carbon but packed it as tight as I could no movement now....so hopefully it clears things up
Great!
Most reactors come with top and bottom round sponges.

Reefer's put in the bottom sponge and pour in the carbon. Then they slide down the top sponge tightly to the top of the carbon layer so it won't tumble.

Also the tightness will make the water have to flow through the carbon and not flow around the carbon.

Good...can't wait....hope it cleans the water and gets rid of the cloudiness...I'm having issues with red sea test kit though. I tested brand new saltwater with aquaforest salt and I'm reading 1600 mg

Ok guys, now I have this alagea, maybe it's diatoms, but it could also be dinos....any idea guys? It's beady and has small air bubbles in it....light brown to maroon color.
