Coopers Red Sea Reefer 450

I'd just grab 15 gallons out of your tank and put another 15 new fresh into the QT. it's what I did with mine and they were fine.

Thanks!
I just gotta get the new water as he brings it in his truck so may need to start making my own. What salt are you using?

Well I just bought an RODI until yesterday so I've been using my local fish store to buy water. They have been using instance ocean's reef crystals. I think I'm going to use the Red Sea pro salt since I'm using their reef foundation and reef energy products.

Few updates! Tank is doing well. Added some inverts.
3 emarld crabs
2 coral banded shrimps
1 skunk cleaner shrimp

Also got 2 small frags to test out

Sadly, the Skunk Cleaner Shrimp did not make it overnight and I have no idea why?????
The 2 Coral Banded Shrimps seem to have bonded and hang out with one another

I also had been watching a pair of bonded longnose hawkfish at my LFS and took the plunge. Got them after my 1 year old approved (banging on the glass and laughing/smiling at the LFS).
The 2 fish are in QT and will start medicating them Tuesday night with Chloroquine Phosphate for 1 month. I am waiting as I wanted to add 1 more fish before starting the QT process.

Oh sweet fish!

It isn't great for your wallet when your LFS is 7 minutes away from your office! I had planned on going yesterday regardless, in hopes of finding a 3rd fish to add to my QT setup, but I can see this ease becoming an issue hahaha.
Was planning on adding a YWG or Midas Blenny as the 3rd and final fish for my 1st QT run, but found this gorgeous wrasse instead!

Added an additional 15 turbo snails, 50 blue legged hermits, 1 sally long foot and 1 pistol shrimp along with 2 cleaner shrimps and 2 blood shrimps!

They obviously have a nice selection which I'm sure doesn't help. My lfs has limited stock but they are cycling some new display tanks. I'm sure I'll be in trouble then.

Yes, the owner who has now become a friend gets in great stuff! Thankfully, I have the QT tank filled with the 3 fish so no more fish until they are done and that is at least 4 weeks!

Where are all those hermit crabs going? Not all of them in the 450 I hope. I had about 15 and they have killed a number of snails, only 3 snails have survived, and the larger ones have killed other hermit crabs.

Yes, all in the tank! They are super small. I think it was 50 ahaha? I will check as I could be totally wrong since I certainly didn't count. I could of sworn they said 50, but will look into it!

2 questions so hopefully someone can give me some insight!

Blue Fairy Wrasse is in QT with a bonded pair of longnose hawks. Tank is 29 gallons with 3 pvc pipes for hiding. All of them ate yesterday for the first time (1st time tried mysis). This am the Wrasse has been hiding in the PVC (since late last night) and I noticed some web-like material within the PVC pipe? Is this something the fish is secreting and if so does it have any significane?

2nd questions. Two of my Emerald Crabs in my display tank died and I found them both laying with legs up on the sand bed dead, but intact. Any ideas?

the crabs most likely just molted. I had the same issue last week and was confident one of mine had died. I saw him later that night out destroying hair algae.

Sadly, not the case (but I had hoped). No idea why they passed, but 1 still going strong.
I am feeding the tank pellets once a day for the clean up crew to get some good nutrition while algae grows.

On another note, I keep hearing a loud air bubble-water sucking noise almost once a minute. Did a water change yesterday and all the water levels are normal. Any idea? It is like a water sucking air bubble noise that I am going to try and video tape. Going away for the weekend so hopefully everything will be fine.

Usually get that if the water level in the weir is to high or low. Needs to be about 10 mm under the overflow pipe

Update-->
Current Stock List in tank after undergoing QT: Longnose Hawkfish Pair, Midas Blenny, Pair of Clowns, Pair of Bartlett Anthias (had a trio but 1 didn't make it in qt).
Current fish in QT: 2 females and 1 male Lyretail Anthia, Flame Hawkfish, Tailspot Blenny, Pair of ORA Cleaner Gobies and an ORA Watchman Goby

Question: I want to add a white spotted puffer, chevron tang and yellow tang
Once the 3 fish I just listed are added (or before I place them in DT) do I have room for more fish?
Also, should I get a 3rd Bartlett Anthia?
