Well, it's finally in and running. And it only took from 5PM to 3AM (as most of my projects do)
Long story short my old sump just wasn't big enough to house the equipment I had and the equipment I want to get. The new sump holds more water volume and has room for back flow in the event of a pump failure (or if my 1 year old pushes the off button again ;Hilarious;Hilarious ) And all around looks better with a larger fuge section that is actually designed to be a fuge

Decided to hard plumb it again, and had to add extra bulk heads for the return and emergency drain

Got rid of that darn ball valve (big mistake) and re-did it with a proper gate valve

Nice looking sump. I was thinking to upgrade mine too but the skimmer have to come first.

Very tiny update: Today starts the mark of a new adventure for me. Going to start dosing 2 part instead of Kent Marine additives. Going to let Fritz salt take care of minor trace elements, and use the BRS 2 part for dosing calc and alk. Let me know your experiences and if you have any tips or tricks for me

Get a doser! hahaha That is the only tip or trick I have! Can't wait to hear about the progress!

It's in the plans. I'm going to wait until I get my amounts dialed in before choosing a doser. Want to get used to it before I am comfortable enough to let it go automated

Fully understand that! I hand dosed for about a week and I was done with it. T5/Kessil Hyrbid + dosing = Tank Upgrade soon!!!

Just a quick update for today. After a mishap that I won't really go into. I ended up tossing my chaeto and getting new stuff. After stopping all my dosing that I was doing and switching to BRS 2 Part, i've noticed a huge change in my refugium. This is my chaeto I purchased from a local fish store on March 31st

This is on April 2nd

And this is today:

Were slowly getting bigger. And i'm finally getting the growth and performance I was expecting from my chaeto and the Kessil H380

Will continue to monitor and post its growth over the next couple days.

Looking good. I also have cheato on my refugium but I don't see it growing but is getting thick. I have the utility light that I turn on after DT light go off at 11:00pm and then I turn off at 6am .
