Cyano Killing off Chaeto

OK I'm going to say this I dose cal and mag from Kent marine but a lot of people forget to dose trace elements and I dose those and I can just look at my tank and see what it and that works for me.

Only reason for such frequent water changes was because I don't dose. I have been doing this for 10 years with out an issue.
Why would you say your not supposed but once per month. I have always heard of doing them more frequently.

So I checked levels today and notice
po was at .25
Ca low at 340
Kh at 8

From what I see you may have a few things going on here not enough flow or no cheato in the fuge or to many water changes. Or all the above.

OK see you using cheato your light may not be right I use a reflector you get at auto zone the one for working on cars take the clamp off put in a 60 watt led bulb works better.

I have a reflector light with a Par 38 Led which is the number one recommended chaeto growing light from everything I have read.
Flow seems to be a lot better since removing the filter sock.

I do not dose anything yet. Was getting ready to start adding kalk to my ATO. As far as feed I feed PE Mysis shrimp and coral frenzy. Also feeding is every other day for mysis and coral frenzy every 3 days.
Would you recommend something different?

Just stop feeding mysis and coral frenzy , try different fish foods like flakes ..it help a lot to reduce your cyano , 25% to 30% wc for best ..good luck.
