Do You Name Your Fish?

I have a clownfish in my home tank that I have named Jerky McJerkface after the boat name of the same ilk - because he bites me every time I reach into the tank.

In my old tank, I named the male clown "Chicken," because while the female always tried to bite me, he would swim off at the flick of a finger. In my current tank, the chromis and damsels do whatever the clowns do, so they all come after me when I reach in. I just scissor kick at them with my fingers to get them to back off. They do all eat from my hand, though, which is pretty cool.

nemo - you guessed it right except this for both the male and female have the same name.

Oh my gosh. You can't call them both Nemo -- I forbid it! LOL

You might have inspired me! I might name my male clown John Wayne Gacy. Perfect blend of clown and serial killer. Hat-tip to you, @afrokobe.

it is mainly my sidekick who named them both Nemo. They are also referred with they sex so The girl Nemo and boy Nemo. In this way we are also politically correct. Equal opportunities hah?

I missed out my false dottyback who is called that due to who has chosen it. She/he is a bully too so we refer to it as Bully Dollyfish.

I have only ever named one fish and it is my naoko fairy wrasse.
He got named sump fairy because he got trapped in the back of my Red Sea Max Nano for Atleast 6 hours with a heater that had been on the whole time and came out with no burns or anything - I would say he came out a lot less stressed than he was before he went into the sump.
My other fish have yet to earn their names - My leopard wrasse has just got to last till she hits 2” and she gets the name of survivor.

I had a yellow watchman goby in the back chamber of a biocube (with the heater) for six months! I thought he had just died, and just happen to feel him when I dropped a suction cup down there and went to retrieve it. Somehow he wasn’t any worse for wear and wasn’t even skinny. He was kinda pale though. That was just his first trip back there, the next time he went missing, I knew where to look. I eventually made a little fence blocking the back chambers off. This was on one of the original Oceanic biocubes, I don’t know if they’ve fixed this design flaw, I know on my Nanocube, the back chambers are inaccessible from the DT with the hood on.

My fish all have names, they all start with the letter ‘B’Current fish are named:
Bedelia the sixline wrasse (after Gillian Anderson’s character on Hannibal)
Birdie the Tailspot blennie
Bimini the Pinkbar Goby (after the drag queen Bimini Bon Boulash)
Bento the Banggai Cardinal
Buhtricia the coral banded shrimp (after a former co-worker)

1 cleaner shirmp- Mory from Tuesdays with Mory. Whenever you come up to the tank he's always the first to greet you unless he's molting.

I forgot to include the name of my clownfish, thieving b****** and **** off Tim.

She goes by both names depending on how me and my family feel about her. When my hands are in the tank it’s **** off Tim, when they aren’t it’s thieving b****** because she tends to rob anything, even drags she tends to try hog.

I have only named a single fish so far, Leo, my first marine fish, a clownfish. When it comes to my other (Tropical) fish i only named the monsters. (The ones I could tell apart...)

My middle daughter names our corals too. The frogspawn is birthday cake. One of the acros is named rainbow dots. She’s 8. But we have fun naming everything. Only some of the hermits have names. They’re hard to tell apart.

I name all my fish my clown is Katelyn Jenner. Springer dotty acknowledged witney Houston and the damsel I got at the same time Bobby brown. James Franco is my mandarin . Ishem (archangel of fire and ice)is my flamebCk angel. And of course my tangs are pooty tang and Roscoe P. Kole Tang.
