Envy Orange???

Juan Carlos of Reef Envy was the original guy with the solid orange PE's, hence the name Envy Orange PE. It's the same as calling blue zoas Tubs Blues, just because they are blue instead of identifying them as having come from Tubs himself. The ID name and the lineage names have gotten a little blurry compared to SPS and LPS collectors, but I hope they're the same polyp and the market floods with them...I never liked how the monopoly of a coral makes the price skyrocket.

yeah, you are exactly right.

The Tubs blues thing got totally messed up. as word from Tubs himself is that he only gave out like 2 frags of blue zoas from his original colony, yet everyone on the planet who has blue zoas called them "Tubs blue zoas" but they don't have any lineage to back it up....lol. thus most newer people in the hobby don't even understand the lineage thing.

I do care about the lineage to a point....I am not overly obsessed with it though.

There are way too many people out there selling whatever they have as whatever they want to call them so it makes it hard to know what exactly you are getting, then there are those that wanna "enhance" what they have which further misrepresents the corals.

What I do find odd is that this person named a OPE and it was worth hundreds but anyone else with an identical OPE can't name them what they want and get the same money......and then I guess the hype has overtaken some of the hobby cause most go after those things and drive prices through the roof.

The Tubs blue thing really got out of hand.....I have purchase several so called Tubs blues and in all the pictures they were this electrifying blue color but when I got them they were no more then a grayish blue/brown.

LOL I'v decided to name mine "Totally Orange PE" that way theres no more confusion from my end but on the same note I do have PPE's and tub's blue's both from original person but do I have proof, nope so I gess I'm in trouble again.

Well the same argument go's for ppe. You cant call them ppe without lineage. Cut and dry then. No RPE, PPE PRPPE unless you have a reciept from Mr Perun.
If theres that line in the sand for orange enve's then it should be for the rest as well.

I can agree with that on the Red People Eaters and Purple People Eaters since those are just color descriptive names...But Propagators Purple Rimmed People Eaters I have to disagree with since it's got Props name in the title just like a Tyree coral or an Envy Edition coral...lol

Mine are Orange Envy Palys......

Better yet since they are not from the original namer, (forget about they all come from God), we can name them R2R Limited Edition Orange Extravaganza and we can ask $1000 a polyp for them, then people will say no way those are OE's! :)

Dont' matter what its named, I would have bought them either way
They're super bright. Very nice palys I say. I can make 1 frag if a R2R member would like a small piece shoot me a pm, you pay for shipping :)

And one day God smiled down on Tyree and said behold, in your tank shall arise the liniage of many sought after and rare corals. Yeah right, it's only a name people....

Used for nothing more than a comaparison too what? The OE thats all. Why? because there was nothing else to compare it to. It looked like a rose, smelled like a rose, and acted like a rose. Therfore hmmmmm, you tell me!!!!

This isnt test tube corals. I get one of a kind rare corals every week, as well as others and have nothing more than creative made up names for them. For example, this week I have a Darth Maul Paly knock off I call Incredible Hulk on eBay, but does that mean the name is going to stick or that someone else wont name it something else. It's just use for comparison purposes.

Every body and there brother now has purple death and nuclear green palys. You think they came from the liniage of the person that named it? Of course not, it came from the same ocean though just like this paly did. And if it looks like it, acts like, smells like it, then by golly its it!!!!!!! Nuff said.......

uhhh.........YES!!!

i have yet to hear about a wild colony of nuclear greens or purple deaths. i can trace both back to the original owner.

I don't really care if these have lineage or not but they are HOTT!!! great pick up bro and thanks for the eye candy... :)

Surfn, maybe you did and thats great. But I can tell you of several people that get colonies of these palys in with there weekly shipments. Maybe they are not called PD's because the suppliers have no idea what PD's are, but I assure you they are the same paly and thats why you see the market flooded with them right now. I knew it would be just be a matter of time before these OE type paly would do the same thing. Everybody wants to talk about the Zoa craze be over. It is the hype over the rareity that creates the craze in the 1st place. Then controversy such as this is what fuels the fire.......:horse:

Entertaining thread if nothing else--nothing else. :) IMO I would have raised my brow a bit if the ones who had the "new OE" types were asking the several hundred dollar a polyp price we had seen previously.
You just can't make cartoon named corals a scientific process. I wouldn't trust lineage any further back than the person I got it from.

I don’t care about lineage so much ad aquacultured. If it was grown in someones tank it has a better chance of doing well in mine and less chance of Carrying parasites and disease, Becoming stressed. Best of all the very same coral will be available in the future. If I buy something that is a captive strain and something happens to it I can get another just like it. Unless someone starts selling them on eBay for a thousand dollars a polyp. Driving the price so high no one can afford them and they all have to be returned to the ocean.
