Everyone CHECK-IN with their current High Temp this past week

I hit 82, which is when my alarms start going off and things turn off (some of the lights). I need to start turning on the AC instead of just opening the windows, but the weather has been so nice in Los Angeles!

Highest tank temp was 77. Never seen my tank go past 77. I live in northern IL. 40 gallon breeder with 250w mh and a Kessil 360we for lighting. Tank is in my basement which never gets warmer than 71. I also use a small fan to blow across the top of the tank, which cycles on/off with my metal halide.

84.2...Florida here as well so its hotter than hell right now (and will be for months) Im not sure how the tank got that high though, A/C is always on 74. Thankfully I learned after going away one time and turning off the A/C (habit) and the tank got to around 87 (ticked trigger) to always have frozen RODI on hand.

Freeze an empty milk jug full of RO water solid.

Float the frozen milk jug in your sump

Refreeze as needed

Been doing it for years

Every time I check my thermometer it’s at 78 degrees year round. Mild climate Oregon here.

My tank only varies from78.8 to 79my heater keeps it at that all the time. Maybe that’s high for some people lol Ac keeps room cool , fans for movement and black out curtains let no light or heat in family room where tank is. It was only 90-92 outside last week only 85 this week Wenatchee, WA
