Fish Tank Room

Just finished reading through all 19 pages of your build. Excellent work! You mention your OCD a few times. In my opinion you can never be too OCD when it comes to designing and building an environment on this scale. Neatness, labeling, making everything little thing accessible, it all leads to ultimate success. Even when we realize that something we did doesn't quite work the way we thought it would and needs to be changed. It is much easier to make that change when everything else is laid out properly. I have a 130g and currently use the Prodibio products and love them. Wise choice.

One question...You only made a couple references to a controller, as far as I can tell. Which controller are you using and have you installed it yet? How do you have everything set up for power and control? I would love to know more about that part.

Thank you... Couldn't agree more with your statement once it's laid out and plugged in you have no other choice but to go with it or tear it apart and start over... lol

As for the controller currently I'm running everything without any controller, just don't really need it yet... Eventually I'll give in and buy the controller before summer and before I go on vacation... lol

Done... One step closer.

How's it look?

On your ghost overflow, are they 2 different boxes? One on the inside and one on the outside joined by the bulkhead? Do you put silicon in between or just use the gasket? Do you use one gasket inside and one outside?

yes two boxed, one a skimming (wet-side) other on the outside (outside the tank)... no silicon, 8 gaskets but truth be told the ones on the inside and outside of the glass are doing all the real work, others are optional (peace of mind).

just a side note, if I had to rebuild it I would go with a slotted wet-side and not toothed.

Everything looks great! Really shows that it pays to take your time and do things the right way the first time. Best of luck with the progress!

Thank you Sir!

Thanks for the info. When you say slotted, you talking about one or two long slot length wise? Good idea. Thanks again

You're welcome, and yes one long slot almost end to end.

I think its sad to see your qt system is more elaborate then my tank setup itself. However ive learned a boat load so far from this thread and cant wait to get my system back up and running the right way
