Good Morning!

I'm impressed you can read the labeling in the shower.
with no glasses on it's a fight to figure out is it shampoo, conditioner or body lotion.
I so hate that. They have enormous font for telling me it is NEW! (it's not) IMPROVED! (it's not) ORGANIC (really?)

I just want to know if it is the darn SHAMPOO!

LOL
This makes me happy

Whats "Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Lotion"?

Even when I had hair, I didn't use shampoo. The directions were to complicated for me to understand.
since I kicked it back in to wizard mode, when "it" closed down everything, i'm using conditioner twice a week. something about split ends.
all that other stuff is the mrs.

Good Morning Reefies.

have a great Monday everyone.
That is such a pretty sky though....

Productive day.... crushed the interview. I spent two hours talking to the hiring manager and he jumped right to money. He took my notes and said he'd call me by end of the day tomorrow with an offer. I was honest and told him I am waiting on a meeting with the doc regarding surgery. He is fine with it.

Still no answers from the doc. They did try to schedule me an in person appt for two weeks out. I reminded them that the ARNP said it was going to be a phone appt and I really need to know how this impacts my job. They, too, will supposedly call me tomorrow.

Called my actual boss and told him what may be on the horizon for the surgery. I asked him what happens if I can no longer conduct in home consultations due to health concerns, could I do something else? He told me they 1 - don't want to lose me, 2 - don't want to discuss it until we hear from the dr and possibly a second opinion (focus on my health and not the job he says) 3 - (because I push) they do not have any openings now but that could change tomorrow or next week or next year. 4 - if he can't use me in another capacity, he said he would use his network to place me elsewhere until they could bring me back.

That, right there, is why I can't be excited about the other job. Even if they throw money at me - which they may... I got a micromanager vibe about the guy. It also sounds like a frying pan to the fire opportunity. They have a high turnover - even though they are working on improving their corporate culture. At least I know what I have where I am - I may be non promotable but at least I believe my agency owner does give a crap. I have no idea what I'm going to do. Pray on it and make no decisions until I hear from the doctor, I guess. Worst case, take the gig until I can go back?

In the meanwhile, I hooked up my old Current Marine Orbit light on half of the new DT and moved more rock, including the GSP and some of the anthelia. I also caught 1 fish - the dumb one. I am in awe just how much rock I have stuffed in the 90 gallon. Holy moly ... not sure I can even get it all in the new tank. Found what looks like "World of Goo" on the back of my mushroom colony rock. No clue what it is other than slimy. Also killed a bunch more vermetids, a bunch of feather dusters and discovered that I have yellow sponge. Who knew?

I have only the vaguest idea of what you do but why cant you work for yourself? I read this.
I am an interior designer specializing in kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. Can you not develop a relationship with the manufacturer yourself.
Anybody else make cabinets you would like to sell.
Let people work for you. Promote yourself.

@CMMorgan / @BeltedCoyote I have one of those ThunderShirts for one of my dogs. It did nothing for her but she is generally a shy/nervous dog by nature so it's not like she's just afraid of one thing like thunderstorms. I tried everything with her like this shirt, drops, the stuff you plug in that's supposed to disperse through the room. Nothing worked. My hypothesis is that if your dog is normally happy go-lucky but has developed a fear of something then I bet this shirt works to calm the dog in that situation but if your dog has a shy/nervous disposition as an overall personality trait then this might shirt might not work. I would be curious to know the dogs this shirt was tested on during product development. I would say give it a try but keep your expectations low. :) Hopefully you have a friend that can lend you one instead of buying it. They're expensive.

we’ll have to buy one. Our boy isn’t scared overall. Just a little skittish with some things. I think that’s due to his past. But the weighted blanket keeps him from bolting around frantically. He still shakes but actually lays down and doesn’t seem to want to leave it. So I have hope for the thunder shirt

Likely sponge and yellow sponge most toxins. Any sponge should be removed Outside of tank to reduce chance of toxins

Good Morning Reefies
rough night/morning.
slept in the basement (inflatable mattress from when all the kids lived in state and you used to stay overnight at xmas) because it's hot/humid and we don't have ac.
rained a lot so the sump pump was running constantly.
mrs wakes me up around 230 that it's making a strange noise.
find a flash light, take the cover off and the pump is smoking.
unplug it, let the sump fill back up to the limit switch and plug it back in.
running fine. me thinks some crud stuck the limit switch in the on position.
calling the sump guy fixer upper today.
don't know how old it all is as it's existing from pre we bought this place.
thinking replace it all. soak the pump and switch to clean all the iron/rust off them for future back ups.

just signed the paperwork.
per Ned's advice, take the money and run, well walk in my case. one knee and both achilles surgical do overs. doc advised no running. so.... no running unless of course I'm chasing birds with the dog.

D6D7411C-8D1D-4ED5-8EC5-6A56AE422181.jpeg Good morning folks,
Eye catching sponge, but will kill large mouthed LPS if ingested. (RIP dear fungia and beloved meat coral). Best to scrape it off outside the tank...and saltwater rinse crumbs off too!

Todays word of the day

Spicule - are structural elements found in most sponges. They provide structural support and deter predators.[1] Large spicules that are visible to the naked eye are referred to as megascleres, while smaller, microscopic ones are termed microscleres. The meshing of many spicules serves as the sponge’s skeleton and thus it provides structural support and defense against predators.

But if you see a large one in the road it is called a

Caltrop - dont run over it.

Good morning! I was working away yesterday and this caught my eye out the front window:

IMG_1561.jpg

I'm not sure which I enjoyed more, the joy on the little guy's face or the fact that he was squirting our son! This made me smile. I have to quit griping about things out of my control (work, for now) and just smile more. Have a great day!
