Good Morning!

Good morning
Time for Jeanna to go back too. She has to help with the new student orientation.
The breaking up of the cat pack will definitely make it easier with the birds. I have to lock them in the office when I leave now. We got them some nice toys. They think they are monsters that want to eat them.
We almost never need to but new cat toys. We just go on a “search and recovery” mission.

So yesterday some Jiboni from my marina was putting diesel fuel in his boat, but he accidentally put 12 gallons of it into the "rod holder hole" instead of the fuel tank. Oops!

So it all went into his bilge and swirled around his engine. Instead of staying there and having someone pump it out, he took off.

This is the mouth of a river and in a few hundred yards becomes a salt water bay (Peconic Bay) then out to the Atlantic.

Either he turned on his bilge pump or it came on automatically and all that oil spread across my marina and the entire width of the river and out to sea.

My marina had a sheen on it and a strong smell of diesel oil which is very pungent. The ducks there frown on that.

Next thing I know there are maybe 15 police cars, Dept. of Environmental Conservation, Fire Marshals, Coast Guard and even Taylor Swift.

They all had their summons books out but I think Taylor Swift was writing a song about bubble gum.

When that guy comes back, he will have to take out a huge loan to cover these fines, more even that if he wanted to start a 125 gallon SPS reef.

Good morning.
It’s quiet around here this morning.
Need to get some tank maintenance done today. I have given up on all the other methods to get rid of the dinos in my 34 gallon tank and decided to just nuke it with Dino X. At this point there is just one coral left alive and 3 fish. So what can it hurt. I’ve tried everything else. Finger crossed that this will work or I might just take this tank down for now.

So I deployed about a dozen Astrea Turbos and about two dozen more Nerite snails directly on the worst places I have diatoms and cyano forming yesterday. I thought they were all dead because none of them moved all day. This morning, I saw a noticable difference in the diatoms. It's FAR from eradicated but it is cool to see that they were munching last night. There is one little spot on top of zoa mountain that the Astrea made a path through the cyano but that's it. PFFT.
It was worth a try. I'll siphon some more. If the cyano keeps growing, I will likely drop in some agent orange or yellow ... Chemiclean. I just want to try natural solutions first. Munch away little buddies ... munch away.

Good morning! Well, a few minutes after morning.
Dropped off my daughter at school yesterday without a problem. It's not quite 90 deg. here yet, so nice and cool out. Dino's going away. Everything is alive in the tank. Life is good.

Hanna checkers are great....until you do something really boneheaded. I was checking calcium without the instructions. I'm really impressed with myself at this point because I don't need the cheat sheet! Reading: 20. What?????????????? I'm slightly freaking out....how can this be???? What have I done???? Ummm, I checked my calcium using the alkalinity checker.;Shamefullyembarrased They even put colored stickers on the reagents to match them up with the correct checker! Better go back to those instructions. Alkalinity was fine....I had to check it also, carefully matching up the checker with the right sticker. ;Hilarious

Are you Hillsborough County or Manatee? I read earlier this week that 5000 kids were quarantined in Hillsborough. Today, I read another 2,000 were exposed or tested positive today. That represented 14.5% of the students in the county. That would freak me out as a parent. God bless and I pray for the safety of your daughter and all children and families trying to deal with this right now.
On another note... I got the same news today. No non-emergent surgeries. So, there goes my deductible. They told me to get two more epidurals plus trigger point injections and try swimming for therapy. Pfft I don't swim. Nope. Not ever. Maybe we can start a rousing game of Words with Friends while we wait...

They think of these surgeries like they are not a big deal and can wait for months. I'm not getting chest implants LOL! It can't wait!

Anyway, I am in Pinellas county. Nothing at my daughters HS yet. I'll keep my fingers crossed. At UF yesterday we drove by a school event with a couple hundred unmasked kids standing right next to each other in a big group. It's only a matter of time there.

Good morning! Weird night last night. First, it was raining so hard it set off the Ring doorbell. About 30 minutes later, DIL comes in late from her nursing shift and my husband had set the alarm. She had quite a welcome home! Then, I wake up at 5:00 this morning to loud snoring (not me). Soooo, I got up and went to work to relax! At least it's my Friday.

Thinking of all your kids back in school/college plus you folks having to put off procedures. I hope you all have a safe and healthy weekend...as much as possible. :)

Coffee time....

Good Morning. Rode into Indiana yesterday, on the way home treated myself to a Buckeye Blitz sundae, and a caramel one. 155 miles and two pop up showers going East while i was going West. refreshing! IMG_3007.jpeg IMG_3008.jpeg IMG_3010.jpeg IMG_3011.jpeg
i was in indiana tuesday.
drove down to meet another r2r sight dweller.
he's from indiana. we meet halfway between our zip codes.
trade corals. stories. lunch. cocktails. :)

How do dogs tell time? It does not matter if I take a pain pill, valium or melatonin. I can't remember the last time I truly slept. Even if the pills numb the pain, the poodle will not let me sleep. 3:00 am... On the flipping dot, every night.... bounce bounce, poke poke, mini woof. He does not even try to wake up my husband, just me. If only I could tap him on the head and he'd snooze. Have a spectacular day, reefies. @ReefGrammie stay dry!
