Good deal my friend.
Business first, leaving off on page 12, I will pick back up tomorrow, but I'm zonked for the night.
Yeah man, this whole FBI thing is going to change CBB and IMO eventually CFB forever by the time it's all said and done. I think the reason CBB got hit first is because the money was just too easy to follow and it was painfully obvious to everybody what has been going on with AAU coaches getting hired on at universities...etc. I'm honestly surprised they got away with it as long as they did. Don't get me wrong, I'm as big of a Bruce Pearl fan as the next guy, but come on, and don't even get me started about Pitino. I'm just interested to see if some of the borderline names fall like Boeheihm (sp). I suspect we'll get one sleeper who we never would have suspected, I'm just glad Billy Donovan is in OKC now, I dunno about you, but I'm not confident enough in any college programs when the feds start poking around. I think at the end of this though all we're going to see is the one and done rule lifted and something similar to the "Bilas rule", where you either go straight to the NBA or you play at least 3 years of college.
In regards to CFB, I think it's just too big of a money maker. CBB makes money, but mainly for that one month of the year and even that pales in comparison to the money made in CFB. We've had some nasty and obvious incidents recently, "Newton suddenly choosing Auburn over Ms State", "The whole Ole Miss thing", "Baylor again" that I think we're treading on thin ice, but I think as long as CFB keeps pulling in the money and doesn't hit the same slump the NFL has put itself in over the past two year, I'm thinking politics will keep them away. I'd like to believe my program is as squeaky clean as I'm sure you would yours, but I think we both know better.
