GoVols: Red Sea S-400

Were at .025 / Hanna ULR checker read 8 and that comes to .025

Would like to nail in at .028 - .03

But to me these reagents have been off  and that why I'm seeing some film algae.

The difference your talking about is less than negligible, nothing. Within testing accuracy and not something I would attempt to control so tightly.

This really is a miserable looking reef and I would expect nothing less out of a Vols fan.

Also can I get the TL;DR on how/why your N/P balance got off, or at least give me an approximate page to start from?
ROFL!!!

What are your Nitrates?
Dead solid 7ppm and I'm not ready to get them back to 5ppm.

Reef's all good. Changed Purigen reactor's and tuning back in the phos. and nitrates. :)

Also just to be clear since you don't really know me, your reef is actually quite beautiful to look at. I go by Amoo around here, but my friends all just call me "Moo", you can call me Amoo.

In all seriousness I have a friend on a sports forum I frequent who is a Vols fan and we vow to hate each other one day out of the year, after that we basically spend more time telling the other how miserable our own team is that the other has nothing to poke fun at.

Amoo,
Thanks for the kind words about the S-400.

My name is Freddie and when we met in the lounge, we were already friends and you make laugh from... crying. :D
You guys own us and that's the bottom line.

As of late I've been trying  to keep up with the FBI thing.
If the NCAA won't do anything about what's being going on then the FBI's going to show them, who the boss is.
I'm still dumb founded that the NCAA has not lower the hammer on Ole Miss.

I think that the NCAA is either turning a blind eye so some things as long as it benefits them. I doubt they would investigate these things unless reported or tipped off to them. They would need a task force type things to control all these asst. coaches, scouts, and player agents. The money involved is gargantuan. The hammer will fall, but on who? Who knows.

Good deal my friend.

Business first, leaving off on page 12, I will pick back up tomorrow, but I'm zonked for the night.

Yeah man, this whole FBI thing is going to change CBB and IMO eventually CFB forever by the time it's all said and done. I think the reason CBB got hit first is because the money was just too easy to follow and it was painfully obvious to everybody what has been going on with AAU coaches getting hired on at universities...etc. I'm honestly surprised they got away with it as long as they did. Don't get me wrong, I'm as big of a Bruce Pearl fan as the next guy, but come on, and don't even get me started about Pitino. I'm just interested to see if some of the borderline names fall like Boeheihm (sp). I suspect we'll get one sleeper who we never would have suspected, I'm just glad Billy Donovan is in OKC now, I dunno about you, but I'm not confident enough in any college programs when the feds start poking around. I think at the end of this though all we're going to see is the one and done rule lifted and something similar to the "Bilas rule", where you either go straight to the NBA or you play at least 3 years of college.

In regards to CFB, I think it's just too big of a money maker. CBB makes money, but mainly for that one month of the year and even that pales in comparison to the money made in CFB. We've had some nasty and obvious incidents recently, "Newton suddenly choosing Auburn over Ms State", "The whole Ole Miss thing", "Baylor again" that I think we're treading on thin ice, but I think as long as CFB keeps pulling in the money and doesn't hit the same slump the NFL has put itself in over the past two year, I'm thinking politics will keep them away. I'd like to believe my program is as squeaky clean as I'm sure you would yours, but I think we both know better.

Your NO3 and PO4 seem fine to me, how much dust algae is on the glass? I've never had any and I only dose a little vinegar.

;Stig;)

Amoo,
I totally agree with every word you said.

We all saw what Bruce Pearl did as the Vols coach and how it ended. He's a great coach who does not need to cheat but I guess he just can't help his self. UT tried to get him counseling and the whole bit but end the end, they had no choice but to fire Bruce.
I hope that he does not wind up in hand cuffs but he's made his bed like this, too many times. The Auburn fans maybe surprised and thought after all he went threw that he'd be the last person to cheat again, but the Vols fans knew, it would just be a matter of time.

As a Vols fan, it's so saddening because he was so beloved.

Bif,
Thanks for your help. It's just a little bit of film algae on the glass.
I bought some new reagents for the ulr checker and I made the mistake of not testing the new batch to my old batch before I ran out of the old batch. This batch has been reading way lower phos. #'s since day one. So, even though I've climbed back up to 8. The phos. is really higher than that reading and I'm firing back up the GFO reactor, with a 1/4 cup of GFO, to clear up the film algae.

I bought a new Purigen reactor (about six weeks ago) and I've found it's dose, so now I'm fine tuning the phosphates with the GFO reactor.

Taking things nice and easy... and we'll get the S-400 tuned back in.

Add a little vinegar to your top off and never worry about film algae again.

The difference in your two readings is well within the stated accuracy range.

I wouldn't reduce the PO4 any further with NO3 being where it is now.

I have not carbon dosed in over a year and I'm never going back :D
Just fine tuning, since I changed to a "new" Purigen reactor :)

If anybody what's to deeply read post # 62, 115 and 117, that's what the S-400, is all about.

If the "new" Purigen reactor was a bad call, over the long haul, then I'll hook the AquaMaxx reactor back up.

But to be honest as far as my reef stands right now, the grass just does not get any greener and I've been blessed.

Excellent come back, and it getting to be that time of the year

Dang... jsker!!!

Lol, It is that time of year!!! ;Walkingdead ;Walkingdead ;Walkingdead

What works works. I've honestly not been through your entire thread. I'm now intrigued to see what you mean.

Quick question however, did you have some kind of negative event or symptom possibly caused by carbon additions?
