No not really analogy works fine in fact it’s exactly what they did.

And no I don’t boycott every company that misses a deadline but when you consistently miss deadlines yeah I tend to stay away. (Cor, fmm, atk, and now trident)
Tell the truth don’t go silent don’t be shady pretty simple stuff and what every business should try strive to do.
So please tell me how hey didn’t lie open up my mind to your thought process. Let me remind you at macna they claimed first quarter nsi second quarter sales at the time no way to upgrade your head unit so your best bet is to sell your old apex for top dollar and get new probes. After three months of silence they now say it’s going to take another six months for us to buy the trident but u can now buy a new head unit and u think we are suposed to just say hey it happens? If there wasn’t a track record of products being pushed back I could let it go but it’s not and with customers that sit back and accept this Neptune will never change and they will continue to push back product releases.
Search any alk monitor thread from after macna and look at the bashing some Neptune employees gave other alk monitors without it even being run on a tank.
So to get back on track of this thread
I do not believe this is good news I believe it was the same news that was delivered at macna and to me it is bad news as i should be able to buy this product on Sunday but now have to wait another six months. If you can’t stand buy a date YOU promised then why even say a date? Unless of course there was motiv behind it (ie everyone released there alk monitors and Neptune wants people to wait for there’s so they lied about a date as waiting 6 months isn’t as bad as waiting for over a year)
Whoa. You do seem to have a bone to pick with them. I've seen you do it with other companies too.. As for Neptune, they have said for a long time that it wasn't feasible for them to release a brain unit, because demand was very high, and the programming time would take effort. Didn't mean they wouldn't do it. And now that demand is down (or more likely, supply is up), and they are getting more products requiring 2016 model, they are doing what they can to make it better for reefers to get the gear they want (ie, classic owners).
For the Trident? Delays happen. A lot. To Neptune, to Apple, to Google, to Samsung, to everything. Companies have an idea of what they can do, and make announcements. They have goals. Goals can be missed because of unforeseen issues. Neptune told us: component sourcing and manufacturing issues. I wouldn't take that as them "lying to us". I take it as they tried, but weren't able to meet it, and have readjusted their deadline, and hope for 3 more months.
Also, go buy something else. Nothing else will do what the Trident is supposed to do. Or for near the low price. (Alk is 1 grand for 1 test and Trident will be ~600 for all 3?). Even better, its new technology. You have probably been testing manually for years, right? What is another few months? Yes, the convenience will be great, but its not like you haven't lived without it for years. The COR is probably the only product that people were actually hurting for the delays (if their old pumps were dying, and couldn't get a COR, that sucked). But its not like you are waiting on the Trident to replace something you have.
If you don't like what is happening at Neptune, thats great. Your choice. Go on. But accusing them of being a bad business and seemingly trying to purposefully mislead and hurt consumers is a bit of a stretch.
