Help identify problem??

How long ago did you switch to frozen foods? Can you give me an example of what they ate last week, for example?

I've only given frozen foods a couple times. Last week it was live Rosies/ and small goldfish

Yes I'll take more pics. He did eat last night/this morning so his belly is full right now if that plays any part.

No, that's not where his stomach is, so it's not food related... Well, not in that way, anyways.

Oh Ryan, he's in horrible shape. He hasn't been getting the right nutrients, because there's muscle wasting above the lateral line. It's not supposed to be that skinny in that area. That's indeed a bulge below the line, but probably looks more pronounced because of the wasting above it.

So, was the grouper was acting normal before you fed frozen?

Ahh that's not the answer I was hoping to hear :/. The grouper Only acted normal for about two weeks in my tank, he has been slowly declining since I bought him about two months ago. What kind of schedule should I be on for the lion? What to feed him, how often to feed them, any extra nutrients? I want these guys to be perfect and healthy again

Rosies and goldfish are not very healthy options. It's like feeding greasy cheeseburgers all the time. I'm glad your trying to switch over to frozen and healthier options though! You can try silversides, raw table shrimp, squid, clam, mussels, ect.

I agree with the antibiotics as well. You've gotten some good advice here. Good luck!

Yea last week I went and bought a mixed seafood frozen pack from the store and individually cut up a bunch of clams, scallops, Mussles, and shrimp. So that's why he's malnourished? Just because of the goldfish diet ??

Just so everyone is on the same page. These dots are normal markings. Some volitans have them, some don't.

Thank you for teaching me some more:)

Sorry, had to do a restart on the PC (I'm now on my phone). Hopefully it'll work when it comes back up (it takes FOREVER). Check and make sure all that food was raw. A lot of times those packs contain cooked items, like the mussel. All of those food items contain thiaminase. Your fish probably haven't had any thiamine (B vitamin) in quite some time. If you feed them only that food, they'll still be malnourished.

You have some good people on the case here:)

I am in the same boat only my grouper fins are fine but he has cloudy eyes ever since I baught him bout a month ago. Seems to eat morning an night when I feed but the cloud had me wondering. Big fan ofthesame fish because I have the same ones lion, grouper, eel an foxface. Not to mention the Picasso trigger.
