I noticed when I had a bacterial bloom it glowed a funny color due to the light spectrum over the tank. I would like to suggest however that you install a bio pellet reactor and use microbacktor 7 with it. they accidentally told me 6 milliliters 2 * a week for my tank size and it was way too much. once I got it right though this stuff is great. the tank consistently reads 0 nitrates since doing so.

how exactly do you use MB7 anyway? Im on another forum as well and they said to leave my lights off for 3days and see if it helps and so far since i started that its cleared up and alot of ppl i talk to says a bacteria bloom and a mini cycle

From what i read if you dose MB7 you have to dose it with vodka is there anything else i can use with it that will give the same results. I live in a dry county and the nearest liquor store is about 45min away.

yes that's what I was saying, it sounds like a bacterial bloom. if thats working for you that's great
I use a phosban 150 reactor for the bio pellets and an mJ 1200 ph. you place for 110 gallon tank about 1 and a half cups of the polymer beads/ bio pellets in the reactor. the tube that puts the water back into the tank from the reactor should be out putting next to your protein skimmers intake pump. with a syringe measure about 5 millimeters of microbactor7 and place it next to the intake of the powerhead for the bio pellet reactor so that it sucks it into it. do this 2 * a week for the first month. after that it's 1 time per week. another benefit is that your glass days clean longer

I tried the vodka treatment. seemed to take too long for me to start working. the bio pellet with mb7 (microbactor 7) was more efficient and less risky.

came home today the tank is looking a whole lot better almost 100% clear after 3days of 0 light its looking good.

Yes that's good. could you imagine if you didn't know - now that the other tank is doing it too?

cyano has returned in my tank so my lights are off now as of today. and i noticed a little hair algea returning also. time to change the gfo. got some roaphos coming in on tuesday. my water here is really bad. blew out my 1 mo old 100g ro membrane already...
