Help plz!!

Massive water change, leave 1 inch of water above the sand bed. Get rid of the water that is in your tank!!!

Wont that cause me to lose alot of the good bacteria in there as well and/or if i do do this should i add the bottled bacteria again or just do a massive water change because i dont want to kill anything off thats still alive now

There is not much beneficial bacteria in the water column. It colonizes on the surfaces within the tank (glass, rock, sand, filter components). I would do 10% water changes daily for 5 days and see if there is any improvement. I wouldn't stress over it too much since the livestock is doing fine.

It is firmly my belief that you need to not clean the water but get it out of the tank and once all the water is out start your new water. There is plenty of bacteria in that tank... Its not just in the water, and when you replace the water be gentle that you don't stir anything up. After this many days I don't see a choice but to replace all water in the tank and sump.
You don't need bacteria accelerator anymore as you have what you need in the LR and LS...

I would not add any more Dr. Tim's. You can try the Kent water clarifier. I have used this on occasion when nothing else worked.

Stop the chemicals #1 you don't want a chemical dependent tank. Completely drain your tank... I have done it on my 55gl with all my coral and fish there's documentation out there on YouTube about this.
Some times simple is what is needed... replace the water. Besides you will get a good work out lugging buckets :)

I am in agreement about draining the tank but not disturbing the sb. Will it cycle again? Sure, but it will be fine. All the water changes have been causing it to anyway. And no more adding bacteria, you may actually be adding more than your tank needs causing a bloom.

ok will it kill anything currently in the tank with the new cycle?

It should be fine. Just don't over feed.

Put your fish/lr/coral in a trash can with the water from your tank. Trading about 2-3 cups of new water every 20 minutes or so untill you feel you've traded out as much water as was originally in that can. (this is what I do and never had a loss) Then when it comes time to put everything back in your tank treat them as you would if you just brought them home from the LFS, discarding the water in the can when done.

Make sure you place a heater in the can to keep your temp from getting too cold though.

I actually do this over a few days to a week. But you don't have to. I used to own a nightmare 150g that kept busting its seams (found out after a year it was due to a bow in the glass)... anyway, I always kept a can, heater and hob filter ready and would suspend my lights over it when I needed to use it. lol at one point everything lived in 2 cans for a couple of months. I can not express how happy I was to get the new tank :-D

I definately agree, make sure you don't stir up the substrate at the bottom of the tank... Be easy when pouring the water back in. Slant the hose toward the side of the tank and adjust the flow to be slow until you get 1/2 way. Good luck

Are we sure this isn't micro bubbles? Do you have a sump? Water looks same there?Personally I would only do small changes daily too, no argument intended only my opinion.Agree that this thread needs pics. I've never heard of cloudy water persisting like that, it sounds mechanical in nature to me...Sorry know I'm not much help, but very interested in the outcome. GL man!

just tested my water and i did a quick lights on to see if its clearing up its about 75% clearer but Ammonia spiked a 1ppm nitrite .25 and nitrate still 5ppm

Okay.... i just finished re reading all the information that you had placed here. I have a few questions to ask.
1. was the only bacteria being added dr. tims? exactly how often and how much were you adding?

2. before this happened how often did you do water changes and how much? were you adding bacteria when you did them? did you add dr. tims with new fish/corals also?

3. sand bed. was it dry or live or some of each when you set up the tank?

4. since you found the tank cloudy, how much watet did you change so far(each time)?

also what hob filters do you own & what size are they? are they the kind with the bio wheels and the extra media cartridges?

we can only guess what's going on here because we're not there looking at your tank in seeing what's going on other than what you have to tell us. so the more information you give us the better.

I personally think your problem is that you have waaaaaay too much bacteria doctor tim's going into your tank. I have actually overdosed my tank before using the bio pellets and microbactor 7 method. regardless, bacteria is live and will keep multiplying as long as it has a food source. if you have a lot of nitrates in your tank it has food. and your nitrates high. all the water changes that you've made recently to try to correct this set the tank into cycling again. So a large water change won't hurt it can only benefit you now. it will also reduce the nitrates.

When i first set the tank up i used the recommended amount of Tims O&O and thats it dry sand dry rock was used water changes on a bi weekly basis i did one water change and it went right back to being cloudy in about 2hrs for the HoBs yes thats the kind without the wheels on them

It does seem like to hide bacterial bloom though. have you checked your phosphate levels ? what about a tds reading on your water for making salt water?
