Help plz!!

Whats the point of stopping water changes if he states that everything is fine? it's apparent that everything is not fine and to clear up a tank is not to wait.
I don't mean to sound like a jerk but if you don't panic and wait you could risk losing everything, plus water changes will not hurt in the least.

please explain as this is beyond what I would do in this senario?

Thank you
smaller water changes was explained above. I will explain why not to panic ..........easy.......so you can think, and do whats needed, very big rule in reefing most of us and I find this rule out the hard way :)

clean the glass, bacterial, nitrates etc. You need to explain the system in detail, it does not look good.

Tbh i cant explain it much other than its a 110gal deep tank with 108lbs of live rock shallow sandbed all params read 0 except for nitrate with is 5ppm ph is 8.0

I would change the carbon, see if you can get more surface water agitation, and stop feeding the flake. Give it 3 days and then see what's up.

Just to be clear and check every possibility here, is there any chance that the cloud in the water might be micro bubles?

I have had issues in the past with my HOB canister filter sucking air and it can make the water seem cloudy from all the micro bubbles it creates.

I apologize but I strongly disagree with your statement, panic is a very healthy state of mind, you don't need to not panic to have a clear head. doing a massive water change is not the end of the world and is most certainly not a bad thing, neither is smaller water changes. if he wants to get the water clear quickly it is an option of doing a massive water change and watch the parms not a panic type move.

I really do apologize and your advice is well taken.

I think it would be helpful if you could post pics of the location of the equipment (power heads, filtration). I also would be interested in knowing all the details of how the tank was set up. All the information that can be given might help us all solve what is going on. What type of water are you using?

The tank was setup using dr tims one and only method and i use my local tap water i know you all say thats a big no no but the tap water here is ran through a RO unit its been tested and contains minimal nitrate and everytime i have tested for phosphate etc it reads 0 just as good as RODI water

Have you taken a close look at your leather? Is it firm with polyps extended.

I guess I should have said check for deterioration of your leather. When a larger leather goes south, it will cloud the water. It will turn to mush from the inside out.

i had this happen and it turned out to be 2 things. my softeneer system in my house fouled then fouled my ro. i didnt notice because it takes a few hours for the water to cloud. i kept changing the water before i knew what it was... caused thank to recycle in the process. i thought this may have been all it was then upon looking into my can the next day it was seriously cloudy. thats when i realized the problem was caused BEFORE mixing the salt. then found my fairly new ro in bad shape.. thinking "what the heck?" moved on to the house water... that was the problem! we have really bad water from a well that has a uv light, iron tank and salt softener. the uv light and iron tank crapped out fouling my ro.

part 2. carbon. one of my reactors went a muck so i stopped the carbon ( not wanting to stop gfo and bio pellets) and added a hob filter for carbon. it just didn't do the job. i stopped the bio pellets today and put new carbon in the reactor. it't crystal clear now.

so check your water and carbon. too much water changing will cause your tank to cycle again.
