Those things are bad huh?dinoflagellates
Had a post I recently replied to where they guy kept mushrooms and said he got some mushrooms from someone. Those mushrooms turned out to carry dinoflagellates. And had to rid of all of his coral after or something. Said it's bad. Maybe he over reacted.idkThey can take over just like a nuisance algae does. Can smother corals too!Try upping the flow in that part of the tank
You have dealt with this before?I would try and find some kind of sand sifter as well.Like a sea star, goby, nasarious etc...
I think quite a few of us on here have! You have dealt with this before?
You mean the regular hydrogen peroxide that you use to treat wounds with?Try tank blackout for 72 hours, use filter sock if you have a sump, and dose peroxide. 1 ml of peroxide per 10 gallons. Dose once per day.
I had a bad case before and it was killing fish and couple sps colonies died. Tried the above formula and tank was clean of dinos, haven't seen it since.
I actually dosed triple of the recommended dosage.
regular peroxide or there like a saltwater one?Yes regular hydrogen peroxide. Doesn't hurt the livestock. Zoas will close for about a hour, sps doesn't seem to be bothered at all.
Go with recommended dosage and it's very safe to use.
