Here it is! Fenbendazole use against hydroids

The peroxide has been dosed automatically to the tank for the last 2 weeks.

The reaction has come since I added the panacur last night

im not sure if you can.

i used the large granules, rather than the powder, but the large granules were just turning to powder anyway.

the large parts were not balls, like what it looked like in your original post

Luckily I tested in my new frag tank so I only had about a dozen frags in there.

So if it were pure fenbendazole in a new tank that didn't have a build up of worms and brittle stars, just a few hydras on the frag plugs, would you expect to see no reaction at all from the Zoas?

I'm going to have to sort out my DT at some point so if the pure fenbendazole has no negative stress reaction from the Zoas I will go and get the fish bendazole.

I didn't go that route as in the UK it cost over 60 dollar for 3 sachets

The elements in safegurd (not the fenbendazole ) is harmful to tanks.

I used the large chunks anyway. But I guessed it was different from the safeguard as that looked like the bits you seperated where round and uniform

Gonna treat my take today, and I don't have a scale to measure out the correct dosage. I have total water volume of 130 gallons, and planning to use one of those red spoons from my mag test kit that says 0.05 ml. You said you used 1 scoop to 3 gallons of water for dipping. So can I use that same measurement for treating my hole tank? I have a package of 250mg of fish benfendazole, and from that calculation I would use 43 scoops to treat the whole tank?

0.05ml = 50mg

I would assume you want about 3 scoops for a tank treatment

I'm not sure now thinking about it.

I've converted ml to mg and the conversion factor is probably a lot higher than 1-1.

I have worked out an easy way for you to proportion the right amount of fenbendazole.

The pack you said is 250mg and your tank is 130 gallon.

1 mg per gallon means you need half the pack.

If it were me. I would dilute the whole pack into 1l of tank water and dose half a litre of the water into the tank and throw the other 1/2 litre away.

Hey Fragzilla, I took your advice. Thanks. Before dosing fenbendazole I removed most of my snails, as many mini brittle star I could get, and my green star polyp. Carbon has been removed and skimmer turned off. Poured in half a liter and now tank is alittle cloudy. Everything looking good so far and Zoas didn't close up. Gonna monitor and wait to do water change tomorrow.

Aren't you supposed to leave skimmer on but cut air? You'll might have them in there also.

Stick the airline under the water and dial down maybe.

Argh... I missed that part on slowing skimmer and cutting air. Will do that when I get back home in an hour.

I tried taking close up shots with my S6 Edge. and pictures came out awful because of led lights. Any pointers?
