Two leds made by the same manufacturer that have a different wavelength are NOT the same leds.

The other user you responded to ran Radions and then ran ReeFis. The two lights have different power and spectrum, and his observation was that the ReeFis produced better color and growth for him.

That’s his opinion, but perhaps we can ask Ecotech to compare their AB spectrum to the ReeFi spectrum in their non-biased testing.

How tall is your hood? None of the led products are considered moisture proof, so I’d say your application is likely more to blame than the equipment. I used to keep Kessils inside a hood, and had a failure within a year. I’ve had my Radions for a few years now with no trouble running without a hood.

If you want the kessil, go check out a tank with them first. They shimmer a lot more than normal leds. The disco ball effect makes some people sick.

I agree and feel the same way about the new Red Sea lights. Too much shimmer!

I would refer back to the OP's original statement of moisture getting in the fixtures and why this is happening. It's a moot point to suggest a different light fixture with this condition still existing with that much humidity happening.

Debating what fixture is better or superior is not going to alleviate the OP's original issue.

Unless there is a "water proof" light fixture in the market (I'm not aware of any) I would like to see more info from the OP's reason for excessive humidity and solutions to correct it. Respectfully.

I say build your own. Got the tip from a fellow reefer who has one of the most amazing acro tanks I've ever seen in person or even on the internet. Cost me $293 to order them off Rapid LED and another 60 bucks off ebay for the glass covers. What's great is that if the PAR ever decreases or an LED goes bad you can replace the COB with a new one for 22 bucks. Plus its all dimmable with the apex as long as you have the Apex Elite (or whatever the expensive one is with the 0-10v output), or buy a VDM module ($100) for the regular apex plus a dimming cable($15). I will say that I added two t5's ($160 for ballast and bulbs on BRS) just cause I wanted some T5's to play with bulbs. But took me a night to wire and hang. Super easy and LOVE THEM! My acros are already encrusting after a short time and work great. I posted a picture of them before/ after adding t5's and think it looks pretty sleek. PAR w/ Apogee 520 meter is 500 PAR just below the surface and 200 on the bottom glass without t5's on.

Zetlight Q maven 2 are waterproof. They even show them working underwater totally submerged . I have only seen them on one tank but his tank is doing great with them.

I like my 360x’s on my 90 but kessils customer support has not been overly helpful to me in the past. I still have one 360we that I can’t mount on my 40b because they don’t respond to my emails about a replacement screw for the gooseneck. Frustrating for sure.

Philips coralcare is passively cooled, a new version will be coming to the US next year. I believe it has a waterproof rating.

That much humidity could certainly cause other issues, rust being one. Mold being the other.

I run a canopy over my 125. I have three CBB's mounted 12" above water line. Canopy has holes at the top and two 120mm case fans blowing in to remove the humidity. The CBB's have been running now for going on 5 years with no condensation or rust issues.

Kessil's PCB boards are covered in Epoxy to increase water resistance if that helps and we have a two-year warranty if the humidity is too much
