Is SBreeflight still in business?

I placed an order for lights earlier this week, and was curious about the status. Been stuck on "processing in progress" for 4 days. Site shows 908 lights in stock. Which seems like a very high number. Phone number constantly busy. Maybe i'm just being impatient, but after reading this has me concerned.
I ordered one a month or so ago, and it sat on processing for a few days and then it was all of a sudden at my door step. I think I got the shipment notification AFTER it was delivered! :D It was an awesome surprise when I opened the box though!

Did you have to sign for yours? Looking forward to getting mine tomorrow, I hope it stays on schedule. Following the DHL tracking can be nerve wracking because it shown it was ON HOLD in customs in Cincinnati this morning, but it's released from the hold now.

If anyone is looking for 2 32” basics with the apex mod and you don’t want to wait for them lemme know. Mine are for sale.

These seem like overpriced black boxes to me. Same thickness, same 3w LEDs...just looks like someone rounded the corners. Unless SB did it first and it was replicated to black boxes.

I got my light in today. One thing I’ll have to get used to is having a light raised above the tank that I can now see the bulbs from my sofa. I was used to flush mounted leds. Do most of you all see the bulbs when staring at your tank and just used to it.

The other thing is my Fluval lights made the tank look brighter but didn’t penetrate PAR that far down. So this has me running both channels at about 50% each. I’m 9 “ above water line and have about 22” from water line to sand bed.

I’d like to hear comments on those who are just used to seeing their light bulbs and are just used to it.

EDIT: I already decided I’m going to build a floating canopy to cover the upper half of the 9”.

Has anyone who has contacted sbreeflight gotten a customer service response since 9/21?

Wow am I ever glad I came across this thread. I was way to close too purchasing a 30" elite. It sounds like they have a pretty good product, I hope they get their customer service up to par .

I did receive two responses from Customer Service this past Monday about my order. There was a a little discrepancy about the website saying it ships from Pensacola, Fl, and it shipped to me from Hong Kong. They mainly said that was an error from the website developer, and their shipping FAQ shows that if they are out of stock it will come straight from the distributor (which is Hong Kong.)

Either way, I placed an order on Tues 9/17 and the product was on my doorstep Tues 9/25 even with it shipping from Hong Kong (So that's pretty fast). Only issue I had with the light was the flat button battery in the remote seemed to be close to dying, but fortunately I had a new one lying around and all worked well after that.

I'd give them 4 out of 5 stars, for quick turn around and lights seemed to be what I expected, but just a little misleading about the lights coming from China and 100% made in China.

I ordered a light from them a week ago Monday. It arrived in 7 days. I haven't had to contact them thankfully so I can't speak to that.

wait until it breaks or you have an issue....they will screw you over

I shop in their LFS fairly regularly. In their FB page last month, monthly Sunday Swap was canceled due to Mike being in the hospital. I saw him in the store this past Sunday, and I know he was heading to MACNA. But yeah, after-sale customer service is important.
there is NO customer service...they are terrible..full of excuses and blame the customer for problems!

Yep And Possibly, ....if I’m thinking straight,....and not overly giddy with excitement. The next major purchase I make I’ll probably do just that. Send a few “ test “ support emails and see how quick there help desk gets back to me. Before spending the cash.

In my eyes: Three things make all the difference with large purchases. Quality , so that hopefully you’ll never have to deal with an issue. (Hope to avoid this with reading reviews). The second if there is an issue, how well their customer support is,which hopefully a tester message or call to support would give some confidence in that regard. And the third being that they’re doing well enough as a business to still be around when you do have a problem.
you are smart...and you will find out that they are not very helpful at all

Worst customer service in this industry! I bought 9 lights from Mike when I was opening my shop end of 2016. From the first invoice I paid to the second one 20 mins later. To not shipping for a month then promised to come down and hook up to Apex (never showed even with wholesalers for coral and fish we used is 7 minutes from me ). Promised to take pics of shop and promote, never did. Had to give a customer one of my lights because SB would never reply to him or me about repair/replace. Several SBs I bought crapped out in year or less and not worth the aggravation to replace. I switched most all now to Radions or T5s and could not be happier. Ecotech customer service and support is outstanding.
thank you for sharing your story!!!!!!!!! I appreciate it...let's get the word out because everyone needs to know how bad they truly are!!! don't throw away your money..the lights are not cheap either!! you are still spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars of your hard earned money on a pretend "US' company that is dropshipping from China!!!! and then they blame you for dropping the light in the water!!! or any other excuses...They are mean and rude!

Sorry I didn’t get back to yous to update. Been battling a GReen hair, cyano, possibly Dino , high nitrate firestorm. ;Dead Lights been off so haven’t thought about it.

Have not received a follow-up call from the employee that said they would

Have not got an email for the invoice for the parts I needed , that was supposed to be sent right over.

Have not seen response from any of the original messages/ emails or newer ones.

Lesson learned( or relearned): Buy from established brand with, in the US customer service, or a store that will assist with warranty. Pay the extra money and be done with it. If I had the free- time to constantly call and what not I wouldn’t mind, but I don’t, and my times too valuable. I’ll pay the extra cash next time around.
don't forget the mention all the time you are spending waiting on hearing from sbreeflights, your corals are not getting any light and will slowly deteriorate because of sbreeflights… please factor that in to your monetary losses against what you think you save from buying cheaper lights like these.....they are as cheap as possibly made..
