JBJ 30 RL - My first reef tank!

Great start. Love the JBJ rimless, I just upgraded to the 45, but I really really liked the 30.

I like that Tunze Osmolator but you have to clean the sensor monthly or run the risk of it over filling the display. Twice I have had the ATO remain on both times I was present. I also now use less water in the reservoir to avoid an issue.

Thought about the Aquamax, I'll be curious to see how you like it in the long run.

She's by fat my favorite! No, have not purchased the reactors yet. I will probably just pull the trigger, don't really have a reason why I haven't yet.

Hey Chris. Happy New Year and thank you.

I have to say I am very pleased with the tank itself. I did increase the amount of bio media. I just felt the 2 small pouches that come with the tank are not sufficient. Other than that, it works great. I will add that I am very happy with my skimmer now that it is broke in. Took about 2 weeks but wow, having to clean the cup 2x/week.

I also took a cue from Brian Kim and got the screen top from BRS to use instead of the glass tops that come with the tank. Allows for better light penetration as the glass will quickly get 'dirty'.

If I had to say anything negative, it's obviously the size. You always want bigger.

Thanks so much, yes lots of help!! I ordered mine from marine depot so it should be here by Wednesday . I have read quite a few of Brian Kim's threads and yes he's really helpful. Love his wife's 10 gallon fusion, although sometimes I think it's his lol. Will keep up with your thread and keep you posted!! And happy 2016!

You can still make your tank look bigger by playing around with your aquascape. Sometimes less is more

Bought one off Craig's list before Christmas and then decided I'd do better with an aio oh well live and learn although my husband might kill me before all is said and done!
