Hi,guys.
I look at the jebao water pump for new tank but I don't know which model good for my tank.
I you self consider jeabo dc 4000 l/h.
Enough or buy another model?
My tank size is:
70cm*70cm*65cm height.
My cabinet size:70cm*70cm*80cm height.
Thanks[emoji4]

I recently purchased a Jebao DCT 8000 for a 700 liter tank. I ended up running it at 100% to get the tank turnover rate of 5x volume per hour which is only about 3500 liters per hour. The tank is not that high, so I was surprised at how much I am losing even running the return through a 1 inch line. The 4000 is just enough for your 300 liter tank in my estimation. I would suggest going a size up to the 6000 so you have the option to run it at less than 100% if you choose. I don't believe the price difference is that bad.

Many reports of Jebao widely exaggerating their flow ratings.

I have the 12000, I love how quiet it is, if you ask me it flows a lot but I have never put a flow meter on it to know exact numbers.

I have the 12000 used to have a mag 18. This thing puts out a lot more then the mag 18 but not quite as much as a mag 24.

I used a jaebao dc 6000 on my 90,55,and now on a 30. Its actually the same plum through all my tanks, lasted me a loooong time.

No noise issues at all and I've never ran it full power.
I must ask....
What is loooong to you? We obviously differ in our definitions.

I have had my 12000 going on a year in a couple weeks here. It's worked really well so far. I remember I got it really cheap last Black Friday.

My 90 has been up for 18months, the 55 beforehand was up for a year. The 30 has been up a week....so 2.5 years on a piece of equipment? That's long enough for me warranty is only a year so that x1.5, what's to complain about?

I see daily on this site people spend big bucks for top notch only to have it break...yeah the company replaces it but I'd rather keep my stuff in my system instead of the mail.

I'm just proof that you can have success without spending thousands on equipment. I spend my money on livestock.

I just wanted to see where you were coming from. Loooong can have very different meanings. If we are to learn from these threads, we need to discuss actually numbers so we can intelligently debate and learn from the info.

Yup Jebao is just fine :-)

Yup Jebao is just fine :)
None of my friends would consider them for a return pump! The reliability is still suspect. If you research various forums, there are a lot of records of these pumps failing. Is it good for the money. That is for you to decide. I guess you have to decide what your reef is worth to you. I am not a gambler when it comes to priceless corals so I'm not one to cheap out on equipment. But that is just my opinion. If i had to advise someone choosing a Jebao, I would tell them to choose the next size up and get 2! They may need that extra one, but I pray they will not. Or, simply get a Eheim, Fluval, Mag, Tunze or Sicce and at least feel more assured that it will still be running when you come home.

Obviously you don't know me!

So are you suggesting that they don't fail because they are solid state or you going to dance around the issue?

The chances of failing any time soon would be incorrect.
And I do know you ;)

Electronics and electricity is my life :-)
