Jeabo dc water pump

I don't know why some of the people don't agree with jebao company but I think that them products are best price with best quality so far that me using from it.

What does my studies of pest control have to do with this thread?

i don't have a problem with their WP and RW pumps. They are ready for prime time.

I do have a problem with them widely overstating their flow on their return pumps. It give people the false sense that these pumps are more efficient than others on the market.

Also I have a problem with their history of reliability of said pumps. Use them on a closed loop. But I wouldn't recommend using them as your primary return.

I have a 55 gallon sump (209L). When I did the sump performance test, I ran the DCT-6000 at 60-70% output to account for potential head loss in the actual tank, and the pump moved a LOT of water through the sump.

I'm no expert in sizing a pump, but if it were my tank, I'd say the DCT-4000 is more than enough pump for your tank. I calculate a maximum of around 13 volumetric changes per hour (neglecting head loss and sump volume). Unless you have excessive head loss or a massive sump, I'd say you have plenty of pump...possibly too much.

Thanks for your good guidance[emoji6]

Way earlier in this mess of a thread I had suggested the 6000 simply because I had experienced a surprising amount of head loss with an 8000 on my tank and to get the turnover rate I wanted I'm running at 100%. I figured it was such a minor price difference, going a size up would give more flexibility.
As far as this debate goes, any piece of equipment can fail, especially those with moving parts. Maybe some brands have a higher failure rate than others, but the amount of risk one is willing to take is a personal choice.
To me I was replacing a very noisy return pump. Can't return it now, so basically it's a backup in case the Jebao fails. I have a great titanium heater, but I also have a second one on standby because it's such a critical piece of equipment. But it wasn't hundreds of dollars.
My PERSONAL preference is to have 2 modest priced pieces of critical equipment to have a standby than one very expensive piece and put all my faith it it "never" failing.
But to each his own.

Please find me a lot of bad reviews on Eheim return pumps. How about Fluval Sea pumps?

You have been using Jebao returns for 8 years. Really? C'mon. Really 8 years?
Well lets get this straight i dont rely on on reviews and what people have to say, if it works for me it works for me, i have more then enuff money to purchase whatever i need to purchase wether its a ecotech or a jabeo i dont abide by the rule of what equipment is better and what people have to say, i go by being prepared for when it does fail witch it will nomatter what it is im 10 steps ahead cause i didnt invest an unbelieveable amount of money for a jabeo pump to die on me

Jebao pumps will live as long as you allow them to :-)
I am a firm believer in dc controlled pumps.
They run cooler and less calcification on the magnets.
And the solid state controller runs cool enough to not worry about thermal breakdown.

Just love the concept

? An answer for what and cant backup what claims , that a jabeo pump is useless? Dude u rely on reviews nd anecdotal problems thats horrible , the person asked if he should get a bigger pump and i said yes what do i need to make claims and scientific reviews to prove its better

Hi,guys.
I look at the jebao water pump for new tank but I don't know which model good for my tank.
I you self consider jeabo dc 4000 l/h.
Enough or buy another model?
My tank size is:
70cm*70cm*65cm height.
My cabinet size:70cm*70cm*80cm height.
Thanks[emoji4]
Grab the 6 or 8000 you could always use the extra power and runit at a lowerspeed if you think its too much, its only like a 20 30 dollar difference

Thank you!
I guess I have to include proof with what I say to be valid. Gosh like being in court! Doesn't matter I love r2r and to help others.

Ok I have to post about my experience one the 12000 first: I have had it for 14 months pump stopped spinning the impeller. Bought new impeller same issue still no spinning. Bought a new 12000 swapped it in leaving power supply. Power supply lasted another 6 months. Pulled the new power supply out, new 12000 is coming up on its 1 year mark which kinda scares me as I have a couple trips planned over holidays. I will be looking at adding two return pumps when this craps out. But I do have another one on the shelf for a direct swap in until I do buy a replacement. Over all I would say avoid this jaebo 12000

Mag drive return pump review: I have had the same mag 5 for almost 15 years I have had to replace a few impellers but the motor hasn't given up yet. I use it to pump water out of the tank at water change time. I've Owned just about all the models they make from the 3 to the 24. Impellers seem to last about 1.5 -3 years depending on how often you clean them.

Now for the wp40s longevity. I bough 4 of the original released models. Had 2 running and 2 as backup. First 2 worked great for about 16-20 months then died. Swapped in the backups and bought the apex controller for the 2 backups. My first power supply burned out around 2 years then second powersupplly around 30 months. I would recommend these wp40s over others. I have used korilla, tunze, vortechs which are all over priced for what they are. Now with tunze I still have my original pair of 6095s that were used for around 2 years and still use them for random flow on the back wall.

Now for gyre review: I bought the first model and around 1 year mark wires kinda frayed out shocking the tank. Gyre replace very fast but I sold the gyre before learning that they upgraded the wire and where is bends on the glass. I would recommend this one as it put 2 wp40s to shame on amount of flow. I will say I did have a small snail climb in the impeller and broke one blade. So that is kinda of a draw back but they give you 2 pairs.
