Jebao powerheads

Honestly it used to be all I bought -- now I only get 3-9 months out of the power heads over the past couple years. I use their pumps for water changes without issue, however.

I have 6 Current-USA pumps and 4 Jebao pumps if you don't count my 3 dosing unit with 12 heads. Current has stood behind there pumps and their price has came down from when I bought them. I have received 4 Current replacement pumps and I replaced 1 one Jebao head which was a spare that came with dosser. None of the Jebao pumps have been replaced. Sometimes paying more doesn't always get higher quality.,

my vortechs have in-service running since 2007... so that's what? 12 years.

upfront costs are higher

backload costs are LOW bc they LAST bc quality built into them

only time ppl trade in their vortechs is bc a newer model with more functions comes out

.

As many ppl and threads before, they are hit or miss. I have a wp25 I’ve ran for years now, and a rn1 I’ve had for over a year (can be really noisy when dirty), but have also thrown away close to a dozen of their other pumps. I do have tunzes that are probably close if not past the 10 year mark.

I'd upgrade your home owners insurance. lol

Google.... Jebao Fire Hazard Power Supply
Good thing I plan on consolidating all my power bricks into one

I have 3 - OW-40 Jaebo powerheads running 30% in a 150. I think for someone starting out in the hobby and not sure if they will stick with it, they should buy the cheapest they can get and upgrade later.

Jabeo makes decent stuff. I have an older pp8 that had been running strong for almost 2 years without an issue. I also have a return pump that has been fantastic.
And they havnt burnt my house down....lol

The audacity of some people and the literal crap they put out there is just mind blowing sometimes. But by all means if you wanna go spend quadruple for a pump that does the same thing go ahead.

I have been using the RW series pumps for years without issue. I just installed a couple of the OW-50 powerheads. They were listed to be good with 3/4" glass, but they are slipping on mine. I put them on my 1/2" 250 gallon and they can move a lot of water. I was able to get the wave setting to create a nice wave motion in seconds.

I have the cp 150 and cp 120 in my 125. I love how much water they move and they are really quiet. Cleaned them once in the 10 months I have owned them because I wanted to protect my investment.

Which ones are considered the newest and most upgraded?

I am looking to get a couple for my new frag tank.

SOW. My only tip would be, don't get one too big. I put a SOW 20 in my 48" 75 because I thought I read I should get the 15 and the 20 was just $10 more. I just about pushed all the water out the other side of my tank and stuck my fish against the glass. I will be running it on level 1 of 10 into the foreseeable future. Might up to 2, but that is about it.

I have an RW20 in my 220. Moves a ton of water, I run it at like 80%. Only had it 4 months so far, but its incredibly quiet and works great.

Really depends on the style of powerhead you want. For gyre style the newest is the scp-90,120,150. For traditional round style, the slw-20 is it. Soon theres going to be a version with a phone app to control it. I have 2 of the older cp40 gyre models and recently added 2 of the slw-20 pumps. Im going to get 2 of the scp-150 gyres to upgrade the cp40s with

I just run two jebos in parallel so that I don't care as much when the inevitable failure occurs. They are just so much cheaper than the fancy brands that I can weather a couple of failures and still not have spent as much money.
