Jebao Products?

Hi

The WiFi controller to the PP pumps is excellent. I run 2 PP 8 in my 300 litres display tank. With the WiFi I´m able to switch between different modes like wave, reef mode and others. Just schedule which time they should run in which mode. If you use the wave function you can also schedule the intensity between 0 and 120 %. The WiFi has an overclocking function compared with the normal controller – you can run them at 120 %. Below it’s a video from my tank – showing what you can do with the wave function running in a 300 litres tank with hidden pumps. The return flow during this video is 4000 l/h and it’s stable.

I do not know if you can get the WiFi controller from another shop than Fish Street. But if you by a package there with the WiFi controller – it’s around 15 bucks more expensive compared with the normal controller – but I think it’s worth that.

Sincerely Lasse

can't express how awesome the Jeboa PP4 units are. Absolutely perfect for my 12g

Glad the PP4s are working out. I wonder why no one gets the Jebao SW2 pumps for nanos? They seem better sized.

I think they are too big to fit in my little return area. Would it be worth running external?

I have about 2.25x3". presently have a MJ1200 upgraded from stock. The return goes through my chiller, then right back out to my tank

Yeah, the SW2s are powerheads. They're a little smaller than the RW4/PP4 pumps. For return pumps if you can fit the mj1200 you might be able to fit the Jebao DC2000. I upgraded to one on my Fusion 20 and love it. It can also be controlled through a controller but I haven't tried that yet.

Just to keep the long term reviews coming......

They're junk. I bought 3 rw15's through Amazon and none of them work at 9-10 months later. They had been cleaned at least once. I've had no help with warranty from Amazon. I would not spend another dime on this crap. Two of the three spark big time when connecting power.

Their long term performance doesn't seem to be great but I think you get what you pay for. I was happy to buy two RW8 for my 75 gallon as they were very affordable for wavemakers. They worked great for just over a year. One stopped working on me and I was able to repair it a few times but it would stop again after a day. I ended up replacing it with a PP8. The other RW8 has stopped on me a couple times but started up again on its own. We'll see how much longer it lasts

My rw15's have proven to be un-reliable. My pp4 in my 20h has been pretty good, the pp8 at one end of my 150 so far so good(a couple months), but the rw15's have not been a good purchase. 3 purchased, only one currently working, and that is after it quit and sat in a bag in my basement for about 4 months. I pulled it out to try it again, it's been working for a couple weeks now...The replacement for the one from the basement quit also. I thought maybe moisture was getting inside from where the power cord goes in, so I baked them in the oven at about 175 degrees for a couple hours, it didn't help. lol Wondering if the JBWave might make a difference on performance and longevity??

A short video of the PP4s installed. I think I am going to move them a bit and show you guys my current settings.

I have 2 DC 4000 ; 2 DC 1200 ; 2 RW8 and one CP 40 from them and so far all are doing great and by mistake after cleaning and re-assembling i have damaged one of the "o" rings in the CP 40 and sourced one locally which is slight thick than the original but its running good. The only problem in CP 40 as for me is the sound. Which we can hear clearly at night when all are sleeping...

Update,
I have checked in an video on how to install the rotor blades and I have reinstalled the rotor blades which I have made in the wrong direction while cleaning last time. It's my fault and now I can't heat the sound. Its best for its price.

Amazon not standing behind an Amazon prime product under warranty? I don't buy it. Amazon bends over backward on customer service. And btw I've been running RW15s on my tank for at least a couple years. I had to replace one recently, but it was less than $85. Highly recommend their pumps. I run the JBWave because their controller is not quite perfect.

To add to these "long term reviews" I have had 2xRW8s on my 100g for over a year and have now moved them over to my 180g upgrade with another 2xPP8 pumps. I also have had a DCT6000 for a year now.

Both RW8s and the DCT are still working 100% fine (and the PPs obviously are as they are new lol). I clean my wave makers once every 3 months or so (sometimes I'm a little slack) and return pump every 6 months, a quick 15min vinegar bath and scrub with a tooth brush and back in the tank.

The flow decreases slightly (maybe 10%) after a couple of weeks as they build up a slime coat but it doesn't keep decreasing the longer you leave them or the older they are (just my experience).

I have found the most important thing when cleaning these pumps is to make sure you clean the little ceramic bushing that keeps the rotor cantered (one on each end of the rotor shaft). If you don't clean this well it seems to be the number 1 reason these pumps stop.

And if you don't clean it well enough or they still stop you can always try this cheap mod to fix them :)

As for the controllers sparking - yes that can happen while plugging the power into the controller. I agree it's not ideal and shouldn't really happen with correct design. But it really isn't hard to plug the power supply into the controller BEFORE plugging in / switching on the power supply :p

I can not recommend these pumps enough, especially for the price.

I'd love for you to tell me how to return it through Amazon. Here's a screen shot. There is no return option on an order this old. Who would you contact? I've gotten no response so far.

They never sparked before whatever internal failure happened. Probably wouldn't trust them anymore anyway. Just sucks to have spent ~$240 and a year later not be able to use any of the three. But hey they were cheaper than competitors.

Send an email or call. Calling would be best probably. If it was fulfilled through Amazon, I'm confident you'll have new pumps coming soon under warranty
