Jebao WP-40 Unboxing and Review

Longevity is a huge reason why you don't run your pumps at 100% If you get an "appropriately" sized pump and run it at 100% and it breaks in 1/3 the running time of a "oversized unit" then it's not really being cost effective to buyer the lower model.
This is the same logic they employ when sizing pumps In water and wastewater treatment fascilities

Whats the point in spending all that money on those things and not running them at speed? Wouldn't it be more cost effective to buy another powerhead for the GPH your going to actually run it at?

might be, but shoddy business practices.

Like there is a lot of R&D in a little pump with a little controller. These things are so simple it isn't funny. And the company that makes them live by the rules of their country not our's. So for them it's not shoddy.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like that they don't stand behind their product and force the distributors to do that. But again, that is a very common practice in China. But as for working off any patent that somebody else had, it's only a claim, not a fact. Especially when the patent claim isn't about construction or hardware issues, it's about the looks! What a joke. Oh, and have you seen the report about flow rates as claimed by the manufacturers? The company that did all that expensive R&D turns out to claim about double what they really flow. So it's OK to lie about your products ability to move water, but don't make your pump look like theirs. And you think they're the good guys, eh?

I like how u all chime in like you know what these companies have invested in their products or as if you've scientifically confirmed ones features and output over another. Face it, you're fan boys. Any voice of dissent gets immediately swept under the rug and attacked. They reverse engineered another companies pump so they are selling it on the cheap. It is what it is. A cheap Chinese knockoff of a quality years running power head. Quit inflating it like it isn't.

Just want to chime in that study your referencing is almost three years old, that company has since made corrective measures to create a more wide flow if that is what the aquarist wants.

I assume you handle the books for Tunze? If you don't, you have no idea what you are talking about either.

You can't handle the fact that these "cheap" pumps have performed just as admirably as other pumps (actually better), for over 6 months now for some of us, including myself. I now have full DC pump control through my Reef Angel, the same as Tunze pumps would off of the same controller, for $650+ less.

Since you can't handle it, unless you have valuable information to add to this thread, you can ****. People simply don't want to hear this BS anymore.

a 25 and I ordered mine off fishstreet.com pretty cheap and they back all their products with a warranty

No I don't simply referencing the fact that the only people that claim these pumps out perform the other higher end power heads are you and two other delusional people here. Tone down the rhetoric. It's all argumentative unverifiable subjective nonsense. If you can't come out with some facts other than a three year old study than I suggest you **** and quit acting like these pumps are infallible when it's been widely verified that they do break and sometimes quickly and customer service is severely lacking

Until you have one in your hand to see for yourself, you know nothing. Tunze and Ecotech pumps break too, yet that doesn't matter? It's already been well established that Fish-street offers great customer service on these, but the manufacturer themselves do not. Its you who needs a fact check, and who needs to take their nationalistic, holier than thou attitude (for a german company no less), somewhere else if you aren't going to contribute something useful.

All you are doing is filling the thread with rhetoric, hate driven, argumentative BS, considering you don't have and never had one to test for yourself to see them actually perform. I actually have owned all the pumps to make the comparisons with. You have not. I stand by my claims.

jesus man. i've said this many times, i've seen locals with them, seen them run, see them break, seen them not be fixed, seen them come with missing parts, seen part break. i dont have to personally own one to see a person's tank and how they perform, or how they don't perform. it's not hard. apparently you can only witness something if you yourself paid for it. i think you're the one holding them up to some impossible standard. all things mechanical do break, but at least with ecotech and tunze they have great customer service and will fix it. if i want to move a lot of water with no laminar flow or pattern i'll put a trolling motor in my tank.

Wow CoryC, you must really hate these Chinese companies! To bad more than half the stuff we buy in the US is now made in China. Reverse engineering and ignoring stupid design patents isn't why these pumps or any other Chinese made products are cheap, and you know it. It the labor costs. And every day this becomes more and more a world economy, so you might as well get used to it. BTW is it just the Chinese companies you hate, or is the the Chinese people too!

The fact that people think there is a "high end" when it comes to a DC motor that is controllable, shows just how successful companies have been at marketing and duping people, to the point of indoctrination.

so whats the big deal with china pumps we live in the us and almost all of our products come from china!
in fact china owns most of the usa,and the "great" obama made it so if the usa ever goes bankrupt we immediately turn into china!

now back to these pumps

Would you recommend a 40 or a 25 for my 55 gallon. Also where'd you order from?

get the 25 the 40 is way to big mine came from a group buy $62.50 each shipped to my door
