A little info for anyone thinking of trying the HW marinemix reefer salt. I found that 1 lb of salt mixes 3 gallons of water to 1.025 S.G . since the box has no mixing instructions. I will say that it does mix very quick and clean with no residue. I like it.

Man, making RO/DI is kinda like watching the grass grow. Fill up already will ya!! Lol

Cool thing about the big piece of pukani in the middle is that it has all these natural perfect little holes for frag plugs

The omega 130 skimmer is proving to be a pain in the you know what!! Been overflowing for a week straight now, can't seem to get it dialed in.

I couldn't take the skimmer overflowing anymore, so I installed a valve on the air intake and throttled it way back. It was the only thing I could do to get it to halfway work. Hopefully in due time, and once I get some bioload on the system, I can remove it. This pic is about an hour after installing the valve.

So after getting the skimmer halfway working last night, I decided to clean and scrub the glass. The Mr.clean magic erasers are great on acrylic. The water is looking much cleaner this morning.

On the agenda for today!! Mount the mp40s and get them going, fill the ato reservoir and get the ato hooked up, and change out the filter sock.

Very nice DIY on the hole setup.

Mine took a while too, but once you find the "sweet spot" they are awesome. Make sure it is sitting at the correct height in the chamber. Can't remember now what that was but made all the difference on mine.

Ok I know it's your first build but man it seems like you have been doing this for a long long time!
Well thanks, ill take that as a compliment!! Yes, this is my first tank, and I am very excited to finally get it online. It has been a very long build over the course of a couple years of buying things here and there. Finding this wonderful forum has helped me tremendously!
