Thank you so much Brett! The majority of the LPS and some of the zoa's had been sitting in our prop-tank/refugium (many for a very long time) to keep them away from the Regal and Filefish. It was nice to reclaim the space in the prop-tank for more SPS. :bigsmile:

Love the VidaRock and yes, they are man made. No coralline yet in the nano, but I haven't really been running the lights at full power. The large piece we added to our DT is completely covered though (400w 14K MH's make a difference).

For an update, how about some fish pics!
Our Linear Blenny:
He is our first Blenny and very personable. We were hoping he'd take care of the bit of GHA growing on the rock, but he apparently prefers to BEG for meaty foods, LOL!

Your tank looks great. I love the blenny. I think every tank needs a blenny. Mine chomps on my hand or arm anytime I put it in the tank.

Thank you! My camera is a Nikon D300s and for the last 3 pics, I used a Tamron 90mm macro lens.

Hi there. Gotta bump this thread. Tank is too cool to not have an update.
Got a couple of questions regarding the artificial rocks:
1. How many weeks did you soak the rocks in your large system sump? Was it like a couple of weeks or an extended period like 8 weeks or more?
2. You mentioned that you avoided a cycle by doing the above, and by having some live rock as well: but by soaking in your sump, did you avoid the various algal and bacterial blooms that typically show up in a new reef? Eg the Diatoms, Dinos, Cyanno, hair algae etc?

Two of the pieces of VidaRock sat in our large system's sump for several months, the third piece for approx a month. The smaller pieces of live rock were moved from the larger system's sump as well. We also dose Stability and Special Blend on both our large system and this one.
We have not had any issues with diatoms or cyano, but have had some issues with hair algae. It is also interesting to note that one of the macro algae we were growing in the large system's refugium somehow found it's way onto the VidaRock. We left it alone to see what would happen. It grew for a few months, but the last bit finally died out a couple of weeks ago as it couldn't keep up with the Linear Blenny's consumption, lol.
We've had to start dosing alk to keep up with consumption as a weekly water change was not enough.
Life has been a little crazy for us the past 3 months, so we haven't had much time to spend on updates. We'll try to get some updated pics by the end of this week.
