My new SPS Tank

I don´t have a lot of friends here, people don´t like to hear the truth :-) When I cut I leave the frag in some store to sell

That’s cool you chip in to the stores to help out. What do people in your area not like to hear? The low nutrient aspect? I am curious about this.
I would argue that some of the smaller frags you have gotten have grown extremely well and you have shown you don’t have to wait that long if your tank is running well. I am not one to buy small frags because I am impatient and typically I can’t get them to grow fast either unless I am on a lucky streak :)

Very nice Roberto.
Wonderfull tank.

Can you please post some pics of your sump setup?

Thanks

People love to buy dreams and bottles. Bacterias, Aminos, Vitamins, Miracle mud from Fiji and they are always searching the Holy Grail.

Even here in reef2reef we can see that and a lot of people told me that I´m going to kill my tank because I keep no3=po4= 0 :-)

Looking good Roberto! I like the idea of a large cheato fuge on startup. Do you feel that helps prevent the tank ugly phase? I also feel that corals and the plugs they are attached to have some good microbiology to help seed the tank with good stuff. Thank you for sharing.

Interested in the containers as well, especially because I also run BB. Looks like sand in 6 of them and seachem matrix in 1.

Yes, you are right :-) I have one more with matrix near the skimmer and siporax behind the skimmer.

For sure chaeto helps on startup. I didn´t have any ammonia spike in this tank since day one

I also added copepods and amphipods in the beginning

I think I will replace my not very porous rock in my sump with this stuff. :) For the sand, about what depth do you keep in each one?

2 inches is enough

Thank you Roberto, surely the heart of the tank :D

Do you have some specific ratio for the sand? kgs of sand/Liters of diplay volume?

I understand you have sand and biomedia in your last compartment of the sump in the return pump chamber?

Hi Roberto - why do you use sand and siporax like this? do you always do it this way?

No ratio here , just added some bottles and that is it :-) Yes, the last compartment

Are there any holes in those containers or does the water just flow over the top of them?

There are holes in the bottles with matrix, but no holes in the sand ones
