You're fortunate you didn't wake up to her putting an ice pick in your ear. I would definitely document and pursue criminal charges/civil lawsuit. I would get a restraining order IMMEDIATELY. Without that the police can't do much, I'd get it before she comes back around. Trespass her the first opportunity that she presents. (It's only a matter of time). Good luck

Sadly, that's the sort of person that cannot be taught. When someone is willing to victimize another living creature to hurt someone else, they're just plain sick. You can't argue with a sick mind or teach them a lesson as they'll always feel justified.

I'd follow the advice of filing a police report, obtaining a no contact aka restraining order and changing the locks. Plus don't be a chump, don't accept an apology and don't let her back into your life. Nobody, but nobody deserves a second chance after cold blooded murder.
