I'm very curious about this as well. It's not the first incident I hear of someone's ex deliberately destroying their reef. Anyone know if legal charges can be pursued?

I've been down this road with a crazy X, and no one cares, especially in court. I lost my tank, and lots of personal stuff. The judge wasn't an animal lover, just a drunk, like the X, both living in the same town, going to the same AA group. He's retired now, ha ha ha. Judge should have lost his pension.
An " Order of Protection" is easy. She comes around for anything, call Police. She gets arrested automatically, its the law. It's a Domestic Incident Report you now need to get from the Police(DIR). Go back to court, depending on the judge, she may get jail time.
Small Claims Court is another route, but if she doesn't have any money your wasting your time.
Document, document, document! Get a notebook, write anything and everything down, with date.
Get a tape recorder, tape her, always. When she threatens you, you got her. Remember, it's your phone, you are allowed to tape any call, and you don't have to tell her your taping. It's 100% legal. And a slam dunk at court.
If it gets that far, be prepared to prove you have a reef tank, with expenses, and demands. Now you need to prove its no goldfish bowl, the court, judge, and lawyers don't know, and will compare any tank to the bowl. Good Luck!
