The paneling came from a friend who owns a cabinet making business. I wish I could say that I made them myself. It was however made to match some other wainscot in the house that was made just by putting up a panel of smooth Masonite then adding 1x4 over it.Just curious where you got that paneling around the base?
Great build btw.
I'm not familiar with aquaforest products so I will have to do some research. My problem is that I need to dose something NOW and I don't have a LFS that I can run to to get supplies. Sooo... vinegar? You can use any carbon source like vinegar or vodka, however that is a totally different dosing regime as far as I can tell. I'm going with Aquaforest products for my tank. Make the Switch! So glad for an update Jack! I've been missing this thread. Tank looks great!
I would do some quick research here first. I'm not super familiar with how much to dose. I do know that many people say really cheap vodka is a better carbon source than vinegar. If you do vinegar make sure it is distilled.I'm not familiar with aquaforest products so I will have to do some research. This is super nice man!Yes I think I will give them away. I don't have a LFS to sell them to and there aren't many people in the area that have reef tanks. I don't want to end up flushing them. I started with one and they have been very prolific to say the least. Not sure what the shipping would be but I could certainly find out.
I will pay for shipping for a few of them! Been looking for some for awhileSo I did some research and decided to start dosing vinegar. I hope it will help my nitrates go down and keep them there. My ammonia has remained zero so I think I may be able to start adding fish soon. Soo... When I tear down my old tank I don't think I am taking any of the livestock except my fish. I have about 25 rbtas to get rid of. Anyone want some?
I've had my share of apartment living as well. I've been in this house now for almost 4 years and I am just getting around to getting the tank put in. I hope your wife doesn't regret that statement! It's always nice to have a supportive wife but sometimes that is put to the test in this hobby[emoji38]. There is definitely a wait with the reef savvy tanks but it is worth it.Everything is coming together nicely. Makes me wish I had a house right now because apartment living sucks (3rd floor). Plus, the wife already made the foolish statement, "You can have what ever fish tanks you want! Silly wife. I love Reef Savvy tanks, but don't think I could stand the wait.
