First skimmer Ive ever owned.
It's on a biocube 29 that's currently cycling. Skimmer is 9" deep and has been running with the cap off for about 4hrs and I came seem to get the foam to stop overflowing. Did some reading up and it seems normal to overflow but if I did not do a vinigar bath, is this ok to run like this for a couple weeks?

Yeah, any skimmer will do that for a day or two if you didn't give it a rinse. It goes nuts due the manufacturing material. Similar to when new filter socks are changed out. Don't worry, you'll love this skimmer. I got one & probably plan on getting another!

Tyvm!
Any tips from a nyos owner:)
NP. I had it running on my 37g for 6 months or so. I want to say I had it running at 8.5" (can't recall what letter the water level was on). But now I have it on a 50g & it's sweet spot is at 9". The skimmer is the best one I've had. Started with a SWC 120 (OK, but pump is junk). I have an aquamaxx s-cone1 right now on the 37g, which doesn't even compare.

The nyos foams back up after feedings so much faster (I've read this from others too). If I clean the glass/baste off rocks, I literally see the garbage being pulled up by the skimmer. My tank runs 1 -2 degrees cooler also. The only fall back is to be careful taking off the cup. Personally, I kind of like that it's firmly held to the base.

I wipe down the neck every other day or so. Look for a small spoonula since the neck is small. I had to hunt down the right one. Target had it clearance a long time ago.

Thanks for the info!
I noticed last night that the bubbles were coming out from the bottom where the open slot for the Pumps cord is. Is this normal to have the bubbles pour out from the bottom and top (overflowing)?

How's the skimmer now? It's been a while since I've watched the skimmer, but it does make nice fine bubbles. I don't think I've ever noticed bubbles escaping through the entry or pump cord.

Not sure, I left for vacation the following night. I'll see how it's doing in 2 weeks :D.
I left it running with the cap off

Back from vacation...

Played with the skimmer for 45min after a brutal 16hr drive home.
It still has a ton of fine bubbles coming out from the bottom tube (the one with open/close). If set on closed and the fine bubble tuning also set on closed, it creates what appeares to be normal skimmate. But it creates a hurricane of fine bubbles throughout my sump which gets pulled from my return pump even after going through a sponge block.

I also noticed the fine bubble adjuster has yellow buildup inside. Similar to the yellow water from skimmate. Not sure if this is normal.

I'll tear down the skimmer tomorrow and rebuild it in hopes I did something incorrectly.

I am beyond frustrated with this thing now.
What am I doing wrong?
Took it apart, looked at some videos and assembly looks the same as mine.
Skimmer ran on Open with the skimmer cap off so it can overflow for 2 weeks while on vacation.
Disconnected skimmer, opened Water Level Control Tube (the one that has opén/close) and opened the air screw. Turned device on and skimmer overflows. Closed micro bubble screw. Skimmer still overflows and tons of fine bubbles come out from the bottom of the Water Level Control Tube. Height was @9" for 2 weeks and last night I raised to 10.5-11"... Still have the overflow issue along with fîne bubbles everywhere :(

Doubt it. This seems like something is plugged. You can also check that tge pump is drawing the power its supposed to

How do I check if the pump is drawing the power it's supposed too?

Use an amp meter conect each lead to the positive and negative, but youd better ask someone else lol

Does the build look right? Most skimmer videos show the bubbles above the pump. This one goes everywhere water touches.

You can watch this to see if you got it, or any missing parts.

I have the nyos 120 running on both of my tanks, it works great. On one tank the skimmer is sitting in a water level about 7 inches and the other tank is almost 8 inches.

LOL, we're thinking same thing (Water Line):)
