It could be that the outflow port (tube) on the bottom has twisted, not allowing water to flow enough to drop the level? You'll have to hold the air intake in place and carefully twist the tube until it's in the right position. I think the water height should be 21cm or 8" on the 120? I'm not sure how long yours has been running, but it may take days for it to build up enough biofilm and settle down?

Yup that did it! Also i figured out it was in too deep of water so I raised it up about 2 inches. There is some sludge caught in that main tube though, is there anyway to completely detach it from the skimmer for cleaning?

I would contact them directly about removing the tube. I've cleaned mine a few times and I used a strong stream of water to clear out the tube. Don't try to turn the micro adjuster past its limits or you risk breaking it. As long as the debris isn't impeding the flow, I wouldn't worry too much. I never took mine off.

Sigh, my NYOS has been running well and I just did some maintenance today and I cannot stop that thing from overflowing. Leaving town in about 6 min. so I'm going to leave it overflowing till Sunday and then I guess a complete teardown & clean is in order. I suspect my sump level is too high too.
BTW, if that water tube needs to be aligned a certain way to function correctly, I wish they would have put a notch or something in the thing so you can't misalign it. I have no hope of being able to see where it is in my tank and I'm sure I knocked it out of alignment last time I changed the cup.
