Please help with my nem.

Nitrates and phosphates are actually a good thing for corals and anemones. You don't want them to be too high, but corals and other photosynthetic organisms need those nutrients in the water, or they'll starve. High phosphates usually just grow algae, they don't harm things.

He inflated up once I got him back in a little flow, his mouth went back to normal. I’m just stressing and being like a hawk watching him.

I guess you could say I’m like a helicopter mom when it comes to my tank and it inhabitants.

Umm not yet, he still has filaments coming from odd places. I think I’ll leave him there for at least the week. If not longer depending on how he looks. My female clown can be very rough with him

Oh - if you give it a pvc pipe or barnacle shell it might bury its foot into it, then you can move it where you can see it.

yes, once the clown adopts them it will be in there almost 24/7. Waiting isn't a problem.

I’ve had him for a little over a month he was in the tank with everyone until Saturday when he started looking weird

I wouldn't put it into the tank until those filaments are gone and it's tenticles are sticky again.

So when I got home yesterday the nem had moved within him little box but was almost escaping so I created a new container. One like @footgal makes for her nems from a larger water bottle I had laying around. He did get him self reattached to a rock I placed in the water bottle as of this morning. He was inflated. I can still see his filaments but he seems happy beyond that as of this morning. I’ll post new pics when I get home.

edit: just talked to my bf who says he doesn’t look happy at all :-( .

Follow your gut, you’ve been keeping a good eye on him. If you think he’s doing better then he probably is. I’ve been rehabbing corals for a few months now and my dad (who’s been reefing for 30 years) always tells me to throw them away because they’re dead right after they get a little better. This is your nem, you’ve got a connection with it and I believe you know it best. If you think it’s doing better then it probably is.

I’m wondering if he will go through with his split? He started but stopped. I know the split was more likely stress induced.

Hi, the worm looking things are its insides! Is this a new addition to your tank ? Usually changes for the Nem cause this . I’m late reading this ! Has things changed since Friday ? Isolation would be ok but gentle flow indirectly would be good ....check your parameters ideally ....they can make it back at this stage but it’s tricky (ime) . If new this can just be an adjustment sign . If the tentacles go fully deflated and it’s mouth turns open and gaping it’s probably time to remove it ....

My last post shows it doing much better. Water quality is good with the exception of my phosphates went up .07. Everything else is running right where it normally does. I’m actually doing an extra water change each week while he gets better,which means another one today after work.
Now it’s just patience (which I am in short order of but this tank is teaching me) and time.
I’ll keep this thread updated with how he is doing.
