@jsker and @Perry, thanks a lot for the words. Today as part of the daily check, i can see all my new corals really happy (i've not dosed anything as ABVE due reasons above). I was not so lucky due for some reason my Dosing Pump (bubble Magus) stopped to work. So i have to put online the Ca RX, and i'm monitoring closer the Kh to not drop or increase too much in the mean time that i get my Doser fixed.

The reason to not dose today AV is that i'm seeing a lot of air bubbles into the rocks, and a lot of brown (looks more cyano now) in sand. So What i would like to get a advice is if i should change the Phosphate minus that i already have ( its there for more than 6 weeks) to try to help the tanks establish again, should i? Should i help the tank with Pro Bio S?

Just for curiosity i tested today night and my PO4 was 0.06 ( 06 more than the last results, seems the cause of the algae)

Your starting to have an algae bloom, that is natural. The Pro Bio S will help, GFO will help control the PO4's. I am still thinking the NO3 need to be tested.:)

@jsker, follow the results:

Kh: 6.7
No3: 0.2 (by salifert kit, i look the vial by front and got 2 and divided by 10)
PO4: 0.00 / 0.00 (seem that the bubbles algaes is consuming them, so means that i have to put the GFO to compete with them)
Mg: 1170 (really strange :( )
Ca:400
Ph: 8.15

As the Ca RX will take time to get stable, im dosing manually the bailling method (fortunetelly i'm in vacation hehehe)

Any tip? Pro Bio S will help? guess Np Pro can get my algae worst, isnt ? due i'm providing food for all the algaes and bacterias.

in the mean time i will stop with ABVE, is it correct?

Regards

it will get worse before it get better, with the pro bio s

as you are finding out the Kh needs to be at 8.2 to 8.5 and your Mg should be at 1200 or higher. You system is starting to consume Mg and Ca. Bring up the alk slowly.

can you post a picture of the Ca Rx so that I can understand the product?

@jsker Ca RX ia calcium reactor, its a bubble magus one :)... so far i understood Just replace the phosphate minha midea and bring the parameters to NSW levels. May i correct?

I told you earlier to achieve a steady state and maintain it. Steady parameters will help your system to mature faster. More you keep playing with them more it will take time. Just try to keep the basic parameters to the recommended numbers and let the system mature for a certain time.

@Anirban, i know, i'm trying, but as i wrote, bubble magus dosing pumps stopped to work, and also i brought a lot of corals from my fathers tanks. My points is if i'm following the right path in terms the fixes that i have to do to get back into the NSW parameters :D

Thank you for the details

You are doing all the right things to get to the ideal numbers.
Ca 400 to 450
Mg 1200 to 1380
Alk 7.8 to 8.5
PO4 .02 or around there plus or minus
NO3 3 to 5 is ideal but if you are higher and the tank looks good not to worry:)
Remember is takes time and patients, you will be always tweaking something here and something there.:)

Hello Everyone, i was not able to post in the past days, but yesterday i made a test and follow the results:

Kh: 7
PO4: 0.00/0.00
Ca: 420
Mg: 1350
Ph: 8
No3: 0

So i had a algae bloom (with cyanos), in this mean time i just replaced the phophate minus midia into the reactor that helped my PO4 came again to 0. i'm not seeing the algae growing to worry about i'm just brushing the rocks and "disturbind"the sand bad to send the junk to sump area. I was planning to performing some WC to vaccun the surface of the sand bad to clean up more, what do you guys think? (@jsker, @Anirban)

My parameters keeps in check, but i still h ave the algae, so what i understand is the algae is eating the PO4/ No3, how can i battle then? Pro Bio S + Np Pro? (@jsker , @Gary Wilkinson or @Perry )

as i'm is not a lucky guy, my dosing pump still not working and my Co2 is empty for my Ca RX. So i'm still dosing manually the bailing method. Another think that i noticed as my PH dropped a bit, maybe is there a continuous dosage of the bailing method help the Ph higher than doing the dosage at once?

Looking good, yes W/C's will help the cyano, I am battling cyano now and the water changes and vacuuming makes a difference. I would start dosing the bio S first and Np Pro and in two weeks stop the bio s and switch to the Pro bio S . The bio S seeds the bacteria, and then the Pro bio S enforces the bacteria as you go forward.

Time to get a new Dosing pump;)

@jsker, thanks already ordered, but it will take 1 month and a half to arrive here. In the mean while sending the pump to a guy to fix it... probably on january 9 i have them fixed.

Wow that is working around an issue positively. Time to setup your own distribution hub;) Have a Merry Christmas

@jsker , @Gary Wilkinson , @Anirban , @Perry sorry ot be late and Merry Christmas. Also thanks a lot for all the inputs during this past of month and Happy New Year.

The current status, i'm out of my home and my father keep doing the bailling manually, i dont know the values of the parameters, but i will know on January 4th. My Dosing pump is getting fixed and probably on January 4th i will get them ready to put my parameters stable.

So just one question, i'm planning to order the the Bio S to start to dose as recommendation from @jsker, but as i will dose only for 2 weeks, i'm planning to buy the 10ml bottle. do you guys think that is enough?

That should be enough

Feliz novo

@jsker Just one doubt, is there any best placê tô dose the bio S? I mean, in sump? Near the siporax área? At the main display?

I dose everything in the sump return.

Hi, after 10 days out, i checked the tank, better say, dirty tank and the front glass full with brown algae, sand with cyano, rocks with green algae :), but at other hand all the corals appears happy, sps getting colored and seems with white tips as it shows that is growing. So after this first impression, i diceded to test and follow the parameters:

Kh:5,7
Po4:0
Cá:350
no3: 0.05
Mg:1200
Ph:8.15

During this period my father dosed the bailling, but seems that was not enough , i beleive That is relates with the amount of the corals that i brought from my fathers tank.

But as overall everything is good. So will work to get the parameters at the NSW, and Tomorrow i will buy the bio S and start the dosage to battle the algae.

Hi everyone,

sorry to be out here for a while, but follow my parameters:

CA: 410
MG:1110 (its getting hard to increase it)
KH: 7.3
No3: 0
Po4; 0

My salifert kit for KH is ending, is Red Sea a good test kit ? (i'm not finding more Kh Salifert test kits)

Also from 1 week ago i've started dosing Bio S as suggested by @jsker.

I'm still having a lot of algae growing, but the good part of it is, all my corals in special sps is doing really fine. So the onlly point right now is to remove the algae.

@jsker, if you have any tip, please let me know.

Question, why is it hard to increase your Mg? increasing you Mg will help with the algae. I would suggest to get the Mg supplement link and mix some with some RO/DI water and pour it into the tank. I would also suggest to run simple carbon link in the flow in your sump in a nylon
