Red Sea tank failing?!?

This is my 250. It doesn't look bad at all but if you put s straight edge on the side panel there is about 1/2 mm of daylight.
I checked on the Reefer 250 set up at my lfs and it also looks similar.

There’s about a 1/8 of an inch here. Maybe I’m just paranoid, maybe I’m not. I don’t know, but, it wasn’t this way a few weeks ago.

when you spend $2600 on a tank, that’s suppose to be “top” of the line, you shouldn’t have to modify it. If I wanted to play handyman, I would’ve built my own tank again.

fully ageeed! i’m more thinking to carry you over until you sort the tank situation because i read that you’re tearing it down. That’s insane! you can buy a car for less that will last longer. They need to replace your tank and come help you resolve the issue

I actually bought a car for $800 and it lasted me 6 years. Lol.

Unfortunately, tearing it down and selling all my live stock is easier at this point, then waiting to flood a house.

My local shop dropped the entire Red Sea line because of this. Not an isolated occurrence.

I’ve had very good customer support from Red Sea so far. Hope this gets resolved.

Wont take a lot of tanks failing to get them to loose serious money. Each insurance claim is 20-40k+ and you can bet that the insurer will get at lest half out of red sea.

I would be very surprised the insurance companies would get anything from Red Sea, and if out of warranty even less of a chance. Perhaps a new tank / stand if lucky.

Good news, Red Sea has agreed to replace my aquarium!

And, they send an email about shipping, they will send to a US based address, then I am responsible for getting it to Canada. Brokerage, customs fees, shipping etc add up to $1500. I can go have a tank custom built for that, that I know wouldn’t fail.

Or could you find someone or somewhere state side to send it then go pick up yourself? I have no idea of the process of taking it back across the boarder?

I don’t have a passport. And I don’t have $1500 laying around to pay for shipping. Looks like Red Sea wins.

Tell them to go jump in a creek. Have them comp you one from reefsupplies or similar Canadian company -- Shipping is like 200 ish (Not that you should have to pay either but ..)

It’s the customs fees that get you . I have a retailer 20 minutes from home

There must be some misunderstanding. This does not make sense. If you bought it from your LFS, it got there somehow. Did he order it for you? Canada has hundreds or thousands of Red Sea tanks. Call your LFS and get him/her involved. Canada is a real market with real trade agreements. Something here does not add up.
