So I saw a post 10 minutes ago about prefers in collage. What age do people actually reef at? I only know a select few but just wanted to know

I've wanted to be a reefer since I was 11 years old but life happened and I finally got to start my first tank this year, a week before my 57th birthday. Better late than never.

That would make an interesting poll.
I'm staring down 50 but I've been around tanks most of my life. Oddly enough, college was probably the only time I did not have an aquarium.

I began research when I was 13 (shortly after watching Finding Nemo in theaters) got my first tank at 14. First pet store job in the saltwater section at 15. Dropped off a bit as I went through college and got married. I was home but didn’t have the time. Just now starting to get back into it

I bet you still get carded, too? LOL Those were the days. Now are the days when people say nice things like "You don't LOOK like your going to be 50!" and you know they are just being nice. LOL

I am 6'4 and have had a beard since I was 16 heh

Kinda crazy how much variation in age is in the hobby!

I started my first FOWLR salt tank in 1970 and still enjoying the challenges of this hobby. Longest running tank is a 90 gallon that was set up 1992.
I’m 63 years old.

Had guppy, molly and beta tanks at 6 or 7. Raised African Cichlids as a teenager. First Reef tank at 29. Back at it 30 years later.
