That is excellent you fed it !!! It should recover well now! A lot of times they don’t give feeding responses after injury, and then they die

Yeah I thought it was important to feed it when it showed it was hungry after it's recent trauma. Was thinking the same thing that it should help it recover.

So the little mushroom actually came in looking like a piece of frozen food or a piece of snot kind of.

These pics are in chronological order. I chatted with the vendor to try to figure out if it's OK and what not and he said he'd take care of me if it died. I don't think it's the vendors fault and even said I wasn't looking for a refund or credit or anything. Pretty darn good customer service.



Speaking of things that aren't doing so hot.

Blasto was moved to the shade in a low flow part of the tank. Seems to be doing OK.

DD has some cool yellow band possum wrasse right now as well as ORA splendid dottyback and 3 different mandarin gobys

Definetly want the Mandarin goby...but I know I'm not ready for that yet. No fuge or pods yet. Possum wrasse looks sweet.

Hmm OK. I'll look up some videos. I know nothing about them.

blennys just have this goofy personality, they'll perch on something and just stare at you. and the midas swims like an eel, it's pretty cool. i think some of the algae eating ones can be hit or miss on nibbling corals tho. i don't think midas or fanged ones eat much if any algae or corals

idk if you should get a mandarin with a melanarus, halichoeres wrasses mow down pods. i believe the general rule of thumb is 50 gallons per pod eater

lol! idk maybe you could do one of those biota ones? i think u gotta feed it quite a few times a day though

Like the ORA ones that eat frozen? That's what I would go with but I heard they still should be given pods on the regular. And feeding 3 times a day, not gonna happen lol. Maybe twice a day is what I'd do tops. I don't really "believe" in automatic feeders. Never used one and don't plan too. Maybe one day I'll switch but will likely be after I have a few tanks and want to go on vacation.

yeah that's what i heard too. they'll eat frozen or pellets of some sort but still need to eat pods to supplement. i'd think you'd want to feed it quite a few times more than twice a day, but idk.

Yeah I'll keep it in the I'll get one eventually category. Maybe in 30 years when I retire and can feed it all day lol. One day...

my plan is bigger tank with a huge refugium, pods for days! then i can have all the halichoeres wrasses and a mandarin.. or maybe bigger tank and move my wrasses over to that and then put a mandarin in my current tank

Figured it would be best to get one so I can use my current one as a backup. Other than that I only have a pond pump that I'm using to fill water change buckets and what not. I don't even think it would fit in my sump. At least not without raising the water level like 8 inches over the baffles lol.

That little arc sale cost me $300. I only got one I really wanted. The other 2 I got were impulsive boredom buys. Sorry puffy had to go, but now you can definitely add more flow w/out that little barrel bouncing off everything. Hope the chemiclean does the trick, some streamers were coming off the rock. Good call.

I know right. I'm tempted to buy it but I'm starting to run low on funds. Still need to buy stuff for the house so going to hold back on corals for a little while.
