I think it will just be easier and quicker buy a Seneye. Lol. I'm lazy sometimes.

For sure man. You know I'll hook you up ;-). Let's hope I get that far. No biggie Right? Just have to monitor and manage Alk, calcium, and once in a while check magnesium. Make sure temp is not too hot or too cold, make sure no parasites or fish eat my corals, make sure we don't loose power and if we do be ready with some battery power or generator power. Oh can't forget the nitrates and phosphates have to be in the right ratio/level. Have to keep the bad algea at bay also. Also have to have the right amount of laminar and turbulent flow. Can't forget about the PAR/PUR levels. (Uhhh I guess I'll just wing that one for now. Haha maybe I should buy a Seneye.) That's just all the regular stuff without any major disasters. No biggie, I got this *gulp...sweat drips down forehead as anxiety kicks in*

Haha I think if I order from TL Reefs again I'm going to get this frag also.

Wow man that was spot on! Haha, you get the big picture! I love it! It takes awhile to fully see it all and how it matters and if one is lacking what cause and effect it will have on the others; reefing is so wild.
Yea I have the par meter now, I just opened it to make sure it wasn’t damaged. I haven’t used it yet, hopefully it’s pretty straight forward.

@Why-Me I went ahead and bought this fragging kit. I wanted to be able to to have options as far as removing the plugs from my Acros. Figured I could first try removing the acro from the plug. If not I could cut the tip of the frag plug off with the bone cutters or cut the acro with the bone cutters at its base. Will probably come in handy later also.

I ask her which one? She points at my St. Thomas mushroom and goes this one. I tell her what it is and say but it does look like a hammer.

Nice frag kit. A nice magnifying glass is also a great tool to inspect the corals for bugs or bug eggs on them. A good glass magnifier, not a cheapy from the Walgreens. I always get told that I'm such a dork from my girlfriend inspecting them before and after the dip. The reason is my elastic band light that I put on my head, like a doctor. With my headlight on, magnifying glass in hand, and a microscope if i find something I'm unsure of, that might look a little dorky. They are useful tools. Underwater Creations Inc has also come out with a dip that is clear and word on the street says it works as well as bayer, but you can see critters if any coming off. Have fun with the new additions. Ohh, if you do find something in the dip solution, put it in a small cup of your rinse water for 5 minutes and make sure it is dead. Sometimes it will just stun the bugs, not kill em. Put a little more dip solution in and throw the bug back in till it's dead dead. Then dip the corals at that strength before you tank them.

Temp has been around 77-78 degrees each time I've checked. Hasn't got hot enough for me to know how well the fans are working. I upped the controller to kick on the fans at 79 or 80, I forget which one. So far so good!

Literally nothing.

My lowest PH reading ever was 7.95. Lately it's been 8.4-8.6. Honestly I don't calibrate my PH meter very often. I'll do that tomorrow and test again.

Since day 1 it has been about 8.



Oh yeah PS today's Calcium test was done with the Hanna checker. I have plenty of reagent so might as well use it. As long as I am between 350 and 450 I'll call it good. May alternate test kits every test. Not going to chase calcium.

i honestly stopped testing pH like a year ago after i found you can't do a lot about it.. except kalk, which still kinda terrifies me

it was 89/90 today and i just had fans on in the house, tank only went up to 79 so that's nice. but 110+ looms large..

when do the acro frags roll in phil? i'm excited for pics!
