SC Aquariums 50 gallon PNP

Did I mention how bad I am at window shopping? Haha

Ugh-oh, bought just a few more corals. This things going to be a legit reef now haha.

Hopefully my tank is ready for Acros. Lol.

Accidentally bought two of the same kind but not biggie. One for each side lol.

Ummm. 15 pieces? We need to get you into a support group, or a new frag tank on that second cabinet. You'll be able to watch some polyps dance around now. Do your research, you have several different varieties in the mix. You just need a milli for some shag carpet action! See, you did double up on those test kits reagents last month for good reason. What is it about this disease we all have?

Haha so that will be a total of 20 peices on Friday. My tank is going to be so full! Also need a monti cap at some point lol.

Also I believe all these peices are high light and high flow except the birdsnest may be subdued lighting depending on what kind it is. Will look more into that one. And of course the hammer is going on the bottom next to my other hammer.

I saw one today on my local reefing club website we have a pre sale for the frag swap...$60 for a nice frag tank. I passed but it went quick and well worth it

The ponope, however you spell it is light sensitive. It will bleach white in high light and loose the yellow/purple. That coral won't base out to be strong either, it will grow a mass with a spindly base. A trick is to position it where a branch will grow into a rock next to it, base out for more support. Don't hit it with the siphon either, you'll make frags.

Scoly: feed me please! I'm literally begging.
Me: Ok, but only a little and shhh don't tell anyone. You are supposed to eat at night!

Oh yeah it looks like the blasto ate a bit also. I squirted a little bit of food at it and it appears to have swallowed it and closed it's mouth.

Yep, believe it or not, not the first time I've heard that lol. I'm a pretty all or nothing type of guy. If I'm going to do something I'm going to do it all the way! I wanted a reef tank! Well reef tank here I come!

Thankfully I haven't had any major incidents yet. *knocks on wood*. How cool would it be to go full fledged reef with no major issues. That would be dope lol.

I'm sure something will come along and humble me though. So far no sweat... the real tests are coming up though and they are called Acros!

Just installed my Jabeo DCP-5000 return pump. Man that thing is silent! My old return pump had some rattle in it as it would vibrate against the glass. Would annoy me just enough for me to muck around with it but not enough to actually fix the problem (put some type of foam or something between it and the glass or maybe cut the return hose a little so it isn't "pushing" it against the glass).

Of course I didn't read the manual before installing it so I start pushing buttons up and down and ended at like 85% and the emergency drain was rushing down water faster than my water hose when it's full blast. Settled on 55% for now, can't even tell it is on as far as the noise.

That's about 14.5 X's turnover (without any head loss). Seems a little high but not sure it matters either way lol. I think turnover is an outdated guideline but I still think it still useful as a reference of what the ballpark should be. I've read you are supposed to match your skimmer but not sure how that works?

My skimmer is a simplicity DC 120, it seems it's rated in how much air it can process per hour in liters. 120-360 l/h

You might be catching up with me on frags now! Good lord ! Lol. Once those acros grow out you gotta send me some frags! Those are sick!!

the dcp 5000 may be a tad strong for our setup but you can run it lower as you've already found out. That's why I'm getting the 4000, it's 35 bucks less and still won't be run at max probably closer to 65%

For sure man. You know I'll hook you up ;-). Let's hope I get that far. No biggie Right? Just have to monitor and manage Alk, calcium, and once in a while check magnesium. Make sure temp is not too hot or too cold, make sure no parasites or fish eat my corals, make sure we don't loose power and if we do be ready with some battery power or generator power. Oh can't forget the nitrates and phosphates have to be in the right ratio/level. Have to keep the bad algea at bay also. Also have to have the right amount of laminar and turbulent flow. Can't forget about the PAR/PUR levels. (Uhhh I guess I'll just wing that one for now. Haha maybe I should buy a Seneye.) That's just all the regular stuff without any major disasters. No biggie, I got this *gulp...sweat drips down forehead as anxiety kicks in*

Haha I think if I order from TL Reefs again I'm going to get this frag also.

Need some yellow in my life. Eventually I want a lemon lime hammer also.

Yeah my thinking is if I upgrade I can slap this on a bigger tank in a pinch haha. Maybe wouldn't work for my "dream" tank but never know what I may bring home one day lol.
