Umm guys...

So I noticed this a while back actually but today I decided to give it a better look.

What do you think?

Yeah I believe so. The bottom is smooth so if it is cracked it's on the inside. Not sure if that matters any.

I would look more into it’s from over tighting that nut I’d keep a close eye on it. Being on the bottom of the tank when it goes it’s going to go

If that crack ever gets bigger or makes it to the silicone seam, have a emergency plan. On the frag, when the skin is gone and the skeleton is turning green with algae, toss it. A rubbermaid tub will serve its purpose as a temporary tank, just top down pics only on that.

You'll be bringing a tape measure for sure when you go new house shopping in the future. Good score on those frags and the prices you paid. Try determine if it is actually a crack, or a scratch that now has algae growing in it. A scratch will grow algae easily in it. A crack will usually stay tight together until the day of failure and show the prism break of the rainbow light makes passing through the glass without growing algae. If the overflow box is perfectly sealed on the bottom and sides, you can pump it out, take the bulkhead off and inspect it well. Don't do that though unless you have a tub and a plan.

Best I can do at the moment without pulling the standpipe to drain the water. I blew the dust off with a long turkey baster. I think in order to take the bulkhead off I would need to cut the union off my pipe. Everything under the tank is glued and the union would need to be cut off I think.

Anyway. Hoping it's a scratch. Do these pics help any in determining that? I do remember having trouble finding the hole when I've taken off the stand pipe and was trying to get it back on before. Hopefully this was a scratch from that.

Could it be a piece of silicone? Maybe I should pull the stand pipe and stick my hand in and give it a feel?

It could be a silicone string or a scratch. I cracked a tank with a bulkhead over tighten one time. It went from the pump return pipe hole, directly to the the drain pipe hole, the shortest distance. The top down looks like silicone or a scratch. The bottom up is hard to tell. If you can straighten out a coat hanger and try to rub the end over the questioned blemish and feel a scratch, or peel the silicone, or feel a step that transmits to your fingers. A bright flashlight and a fingernail w/ the bulkhead out doesn't fib though.

Sorry I'm not home right now, on vacation. Will take pics when I get home Monday night right away for you... But mine looks the same and worried me too. I believe it was silicone?on the top side just a thin string the thickness of a hair to look like a crack. Hopefully yours is the same.

I had that gut punched feeling for a day or two until I messed with it to find out. There's another spot in my tank with an extra thin piece of excess silicone too so I had something to compare against. On my tank I could clearly feel the rubbery texture of the silicone. Then I stopped worrying. I was mainly worried because I bought my tank a year ago and sat in garage the whole time so I couldn't ask Steve at SCA to replace it now after all that time.

You sir are a genius! I went ahead and pulled out the stand pipe and stuck my hand in while standing on a chair. Not a scratch or crack. Definetly feels rubbery like silicone. Mystery solved! Thanks!

Here's a few corals that I haven't shared much.

Paly is still tiny. Took off the frag plug when my other corals came in Friday.

The clove polyps got titlted from one of the crabs. Still haven't decided where to put it.

Acan ate today.

My other bonsai looks pretty neat.

I took this time to clean off the strainer. Mostly dog hair I think! I need to keep my hands out of the tank!
