Steelerfans 120g build from scratch (Pic intense)

So during the down time of waiting for the doors and stand top molding to be made I figured I would work on the plumbing but ran into a little issue

Found a crack in the pump housing :(

Contacted the fine folks at panworld and they sent me out a new one (Great customer service) :)

So with the new housing in place I was able to get back to working on the plumbing

By the way, this 120g was made to replace a 90g that I had at the time so I thought I would share a pic of the 90g

When I received the stand top molding, it was not the actual design I requested but it still worked

Gives it a finished and clean look

Here's a pic of the doors

Decided to use hinges that would allow the doors to be removed if necessary

IM000825.jpg

Had to try 3 different sets before I found the right combination as some would make the doors stick out or would not allow them to close properly

Great job! Has your hood become to heavy? When i had mine done it added a lot of weight with the extra trim and molding but sure makes it look nice.

Really nice work. I love all the trim/ mill work.Yeah cabinetry can be tricky, besides getting the right fit were those hinges hard to install? I like that style of hinge, with a spring(or whatever they use) to hold the door open. then when you close them they kinda snap back. Nice build!

We had a bit of trouble finding the right hinges with out tank build too! lol. I just remember standing in the hardware store disagreeing with my boyfriend about which one would work. haha...good memories!

Your stand and canopy are going to look awesome!

No. I was able to keep the weight down by making it out of pine plus if you look at the pics, it's pretty much open back and top but yes I agree, it really adds to the look :)

They probably would have been except I had them drilled

So it was just pretty much pop in and add the screws

Here's a couple of pics where you could see the open back and top

A little bit more detail of the stand, still without the stand top molding installed

and a full shot of the canopy. I was really pleased with the canopy and love the fact that not only does it have access from the front and sides but I made it with a top hinge so the front folds up to allow for full access

Hey Marvin, how you doing? I did not know you were on here. I am not, this is an older set up that I am just sharing

In good. Just trying to get some ideas on a small upgrade I have planned :)

Yup I'm here every now and then. Lol. R2R is a nice hangout. But for some reason I can't access the site from my home network. I think they have my ip blocked or something. So I can only view the site on my phone or from other locations.
