There is a pretty good chance I'm losing my income for who knows how long, so if it costs any money, it wont happen. I may shuffle a few coral placements and do some deeper cleaning.

In my prayers

Only wish I were stuck at home. Love the days I can puts with the fish. I am an ICU nurse. I will spend little time at home now

So sorry for you on that one.

I know this is serious, and not intending to make light of the situation.
But I don't see the need to go all out bat ____ crazy.
Slow down use common sense and we will all be fine.

For those of you that have no morals here's the other side of the coin.
Ok yea now you have 1000 bottles of hand sanitizer, good for you.
Lined yourself up for a cash influx like none other, awesome.

Has to be cash though as any electronic transaction will be tracked by the IRS.
Then comes the tax debt.

The rest of the population has none now, so you set yourself up to make some serious cash. Perfect!

Well the other side of the coin,
Now every person coming to your door has a much higher risk of infection right?
Your brilliance of a quick payout is bringing them right to your doorstep. Yea way cool.

Oh yea that's right, they don't have access to sanitizer so what does that mean?
There hands and cash are laced with COVID-19.

So you have successfully brought all those people right to your doorstep.
In the end your extra cash will be spent on hospital bills or a coffin for you and your family.

Yep brilliant strategy and fantastic display of humanity LoL.

Answered others.

70 + here. Stuck in home quarantine or more exactly - in a situation there we should have as low contact with other human beings as possible. Including children and grandchildren. Time - nobody knows. There is no forced home quarantine for 70 + in Sweden yet - but if it will be worse - it will come. in my case - I live 100 meters from a forest - I have an own entrance and can get out for walks (and my wife says - this will lead to better health for me :p) We have lived together for nearly 50 years and would probably manage to live isolated for some months without killing each other:p And we have Netflix :pHowever - We will see what´s happen with the chill ;Shy

And we did a fast stop at the local butcher yesterday - it will be a lot of good food in the coming weeks.

I think that my problem will not be to do anything with my aquarium - instead it will be not to do too much :p At least @Sallstrom fear that :p. Maybe this can be the greatest problem if we are at home and bored. We change the stability of the system.

I´ll try to stay tuned with R2R - read old threads and maybe update my thread more often.

Sincerely Lasse

I'm stuck at home since my girlfriend has a cold. I'm okey so far. Aquarium-wise, I got "my" tanks at my work(public aquaria), so I'm forced to work with my to-do list on my computer.. Luckily I have coworkers doing water tests etc at work. And when I get the numbers I can get into our GHL Profilux online and change addetives etc. So that's nice :)

At the moment trying to shape up our online coral databas. Why does it have to be soooo many species of Acropora and Montipora and why do they all look soo similar..?? o_O
Also looking through old aquarium pictures and doing posts on our Instagram account(which I haven't done for a while :D). @TheMaritimeAquarium for those interested.

I have been wanting to take a week off to catchup on chores. But with the wife at home, spending a week on the tank would have me working in the Dog House.

Whether stuck or by choice, there is always something do be done in the aquarium. But now I do have to buy some fish food. Need some frozen standards. Krill, artemia, etc. Stores that provide for animals are open along with stores for human necessities.

Just completed a tank transfer prior to the lockdowns going into effect, so now I get to monitor and do maintenance as required. I might do a water change today. I'm not sure yet.

I got to figure out my sump issues on my new tank but sadly I still have to work because iron workers don’t get days off! Lol

@joshporksandwic said if he was going to be stuck inside then his tank was going to be spotless! HA!

So if you're stuck inside what types of things will you be looking to accomplish in terms of your tank? What's the "to do list" look like?

What are some things you can do that you might otherwise put off for later?

Here are a few ideas for you: (I'll keep adding ideas from this thread)

  • Clean and maintain pumps
  • Water Change
  • Sand cleaning and maintenance
  • Install equipment
  • Tank Planning
  • Water Testing
  • Test RO/DI
  • Clean and Sell used equipment
  • Clean Sump
  • Clean Tank
  • Finish outstanding projects
  • Clean overflows
  • Inspect and clean lighting, fans, lens etc.
  • Manage wiring
  • Manually pull algae
  • Frag Corals
  • Sort and Organize

My tank isn’t up yet. Went to anLFS to buy what I needed real fast for my qt. Making list of things that I want I.e lights, return pump, controller and etc. researching the fish that I want( I already know what I want) just need to find out their requirements. Will buy what I need little by little or wait until this is over since deliveries are taking longer than normal. And to be honest why hurry.

I already fragged a bunch of zoas. Also cleaned and programmed a pair of used radions to replace the ocean revive on my lowboy frag tank.

Still have quite a bit of coral to frag.

By today or tomorrow I can probably drain my 55 gallon RO/DI barrel and give it a clean for the first time ever. Surprisingly it doesn't feel slimy at all so it may not even actually need cleaning but what the heck. Good times.

1. Take apart your whole reef and clean out that filthy sandbed.
