Clean your lights if you can get or have compressed air.

agreed! Definitely should take down my lighting and clean it up. In general I prefer wiping to compressed air- not trying to blow dust and salt even deeper into the unit.

Stay safe reefers! Don’t be complacent and don’t take any chances. Above all be community minded! Share, help, support....and be selfless. Only take what you need and leave something for others. Let’s all show humanity and compassion.... what good is the world if we lose our heads. Keep smiling..... see you on the other side - the day after tomorrow.

My job is essential and we won't close. That's the email from our CEO.

My list:

1) clean out sump and all equipment
2) reaquascape a portion of the tank
3) eradicate this dang algae outbreak
4) get my Kole tang to finally eat after 2 1/2 weeks

I have 1/3 of the rock outside now. It has to go back with the next water change.
Something amiss with the skimmer it has to be fixed.
Vacuum another 1/3 or more of the sand bed.
Still 5 pumps to clean also.
Lights need a wipe too.

Yeah, my freshwater 29 gallon was WAY overdue for a change. I ended up changing my sand to gravel and it all went great!

I am also getting my discus tomorrow for my 54 gallon corner so yay!

I will continue to do my routine maintenance every Sunday. Clean glass on tank every other day. My main concern is checking on the family and friends, To make sure that they are ok In this crisis. Thank you Reef2Reef,BRS,Jason Fox,WWC,you all are awesome.Much love...

I am going to read every article on R2R. Then I am going to go thru every meet and greet and build thread since 2018 and post a comment. After that I will go back to every one of my posts to check spelling and grammar just in case I should happen to offended the high expectations of a certain unnamed teacher from Korea.

wait, I don’t get time off. Oh well.

I’ll probably put in place a RODI system as I was getting all my water supply from my lfs, but joe that is closed (and who knows for how long) I’ll have to begin producing it myself.

@joshporksandwic said if he was going to be stuck inside then his tank was going to be spotless! HA!

So if you're stuck inside what types of things will you be looking to accomplish in terms of your tank? What's the "to do list" look like?

What are some things you can do that you might otherwise put off for later?

Here are a few ideas for you: (I'll keep adding ideas from this thread)

  • Clean and maintain pumps
  • Water Change
  • Sand cleaning and maintenance
  • Install equipment
  • Tank Planning
  • Water Testing
  • Test RO/DI
  • Clean and Sell used equipment
  • Clean Sump
  • Clean Tank
  • Finish outstanding projects
  • Clean overflows
  • Inspect and clean lighting, fans, lens etc.
  • Manage wiring
  • Manually pull algae
  • Frag Corals
  • Sort and Organize

I will be cleaning up the rats nest of wiring

Oh my gosh, if I get to be stuck at home, I would like to finish the electrical for the tank.
High voltage wiring that is, add the circuits and receptacles that were supposed to be done before the tank was up and running. LoL
Just like the mechanic with a broken car I am an electrician with unfinished electrical. LoL

Oh and I answered NO because it has not happened so far LoL

Voted other. Im not stuck at home, normal daily grind for me. The world is still turning, sun still rising and bills still need to get paid. People freaking out is making this Covid19 situation way worse than it is. Keep calm and reef on.

Amen to that entire statement.

Luckily I have my tank just 2 feet from my desk that I'll be sitting at all day and night!

Geared up again today. Gown gloves n95 face shield. There were 14 IV pumps each with a life saving med. running the machine that acts as a kidney ventilator maxed out. Patient is still not getting good air exchange.. nothing left we can do. I am hot. And have to pee. I call his wife to update. I took a good look at this man’s hand. Calloused a workman’s hand. Yet his wedding ring is spotless. They took a weekend together She cannot come in And hold his hand. This is way worse than you think
