Sorry to hear about your loss and good job R2R community for stepping up and taking care of your own.

This is one of the reasons why I love this community. Every reefer here is so generous to answer questions and help another reefer out.

I am proud to be a part of the R2R community.

I have a huge 40 polyp colony of Mind Blowing Palys. If you are interested, I would be more than happy to donate to you.

Dang Bobby, sorry to hear about the crash.

Thanks chris

Really sorry. I know a lot of hard work and time went into that tank.

Thanks bud. Way too much time into the tank lol

You could sell the dead coral for live rock...*shot*

Unless you dried them out, I'd hang onto them for a few months. Some may come back.

If they don't...maybe you could put them in a reactor? Kind of like after a forest fire...the remains of the old feed the new. Might be a fitting kind of RIP.

It's funny you say that. I had someone else tell
Me the same thing to sell the old sps colonies lol

I'm getting ready to set up the 65 and have everything with ready access... I'll start making frags tonight so they'll all be healed up.

Mole. Sounds great!!' Let me know

Sorry about the loss bro. :(

Thanks rev. We are definitely staying in the hobby. So you aren't getting rid of me that easy

Sorry for the losses. I have been there and it sucks. I am glad to see R2R members pulling together.
It just shows you how great our community is

Thanks you so much for the offer. It looks like out z's and ps are pulling through just fine. But total loss with Lps and sps
So let's save that rock of yours for someone else who needs it more than I do

Thanks again
Bob

Aw I sowwy.
Thanks bud. No meth was being produced around my tank crash unlike yours but we both had crashes. It really stinks

Bob

So sorry to hear this turbo.

Really nice to see everyone being so helpful and gracious.

We will rebuild!

Hey Bob,

It's been a few days, and I really hate to ask this question, but I think I'm going to have to. Do you know whether or not whatever got into your tank got into your rock? Are you going to have to replace all your rock as well?

Steve

Whatever was in there the carbon and water changes pulled it out. I had a picece of pink lemonade from my wife's bio cube. And used it as a test. And it has been in the tank a few days holding color and showing polyp extension so I seem to be good. I actually went out today and bought a whole bunch of new pieces for the tank so I am now officially on the way to recovery!!!!

The tank recovery or reef addiction recovery? ;)

Ok I admit addiction lol

Picked up a nice colony today for a good price. And so it begins.......again lol

Awesome man! Glad to see you're in better spirits. Now let's get some new frags in that puppy.

Wish I had read this before I treated my tank last w/e with the same product, same expiration date. I dosed the recommended dosage and didn't have quite as bad a reaction as you but I'll probably loose 2-3 acro colonies (pearlberry and rainbow bottlebrush, 2 of my favorites of course). Most of the other SPS are brown or gray and very dull in color. I did 2 20% water changes the day of the treatment and have been doing 10% every day since. LPS also did not react well. One red aussie chalice put out white filaments all over the place and is no longer red. Scolys did the same but look better now. Things will likely recover but it was close. The number on my bottle is PA6000251.

Man sorry to hear that. Maybe I should start another thread about this warning everyone

I saw exactly what you are seeing. All sps went gray and dark brown. And then a few days after that everythig started Rtn. Fragging colonies to save pieces actually accelerated the Rtn

I feel for you bud. Good luck

Bob

Lesson learned I had a tank crash as bad as yours but in my case a bad batch of Kent carbon wiped out all my sps Kent did a recall that was it couldn't keep sps alive for like a year after the crash now I just do water changes no chemicals at all if there's a bug there's always a fish that will eat it there's no need for chemicals in this hobby plus they don't work and make things worse half the time . Good luck
